I only see GC 4.0 happening if I become a English major. Yeah... not happening.

I have low expectations for this one. I doubt it will be worth the wait.

Looks better than Mario Kart 7 at least.

Despite me preferring handheld versions than console, I kinda agree...lol.
I enjoy 7 and all of its tracks for sure, but...eh...character selections was bleh. Kinda wished they had more/new power-ups too.

I love Erica (Strike Witches), Eureka (Eureka Seven), and Tenma (School Rumble), stay away from them. xD
Update: Also love Yukari and Mizore from Rosario + Vampire.
Another Update: Also Yuuki...from School Rumble...
Yet Another Update: Also Amber and Xiao Pai from Rune Factory 4.

I had the chance to play this recently at Best Buy and it's AMAZING. The game flowed very similar to Mario Kart Wii and 7, with the addition to the smoothness that I saw in Sonic Racer. The hover/gravity cars were also an awesome new element. I played as Mario through the course and I had to drool in spots that were in HD. The game is also 1080P! I can't wait to buy this game day one.

That would've torn up the race track. Hover karts are much cleaner.

I wonder if Nintendo is bringing back "mission mode" from MKDS? I thought that mode was both unique and fun. :O

You're expecting stuff that most likely won't happen. We've seen one trailer and the game doesn't come out 'til 2014. At least have a little bit of hope and instead of expecting what you want; just expect it to a great game.

Mario Kart is ALWAYS great,
but its ALWAYS the same.
After playing Modnation Racers on PS3 I just saw the possibilities of a community driven funracer, something that would fit very well with Mario Kart. if you're happy playing the same game every few years with updated graphics and a few new tracks, fine, but I'd love it to grow beyond that.

No regrets.

Modnation Racers was horrible -_- Horribly limited track themes and designs, bad controls, and very little charm. But a community driven Mario Kart could be cool.

I know there are mixed opinions on DLC, but if Nintendo released map packs from all of the previous Mario Karts…
I’d have to just hand them my credit card!

I couldn't imagine why DLC would be a BAD thing...if you want it, it's available to download...if not, you don't have to get it! It's as easy as that
Mario Kart DLC would be really cool, but knowing Nintendo, it probably won't happen. I'm sure they will include more than enough tracks this time around, however. They said that there would be more than the usual 32 (16 new/16 old).

I'd honestly tolerate them putting the retro courses as DLC later if it meant more focus on more new things for the game.

When and where did they say that? That would be cool if it's true.

Description from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GZGLygvDAQ

I know it's not a 100% reliable source, but the guy WAS at e3 after all and the information he wrote sounds very plausible

DLC of old tracks would be awesome. I haven't played many Mario Kart games and I wasn't planning on picking this one up, but the presentation at E3 sold me. It looks amazing, allows me to support a great company like Nintendo and looks like it should satisfy my racing needs on some level. It also helps that my wife is more likely to join in if she can use a cute character.

Getting to game with the wife is the number one reason I am looking forward to this and Smash Bros. :)
