Don't think it's been posted, but screenshots for Excitebike Arena:
On another note... I have a question about Yoshi Circuit. Namely, is the tunnel shortcut still present? Because it was pretty cool in the Gamecube version of the track, yet got removed in the DS one. Did Nintendo remember to keep it in for the Mario Kart 8 version?
@CM30 Removed as the exit of the shortcut cannot be seen in the trailer hence confirming this is a remake of the DS remake rather than a remake of the GCN original.

That sucks. I'm disappointed they're basing the DLC off the Mario Kart DS versions of tracks, because those had to remove stuff for memory/space reasons. That don't exist any more.
The Japanese Mario Kart 8 site confirms the Excitebike track is in the Egg Cup, not the Triforce Cup. This confirms that there won't be full retro Mario Kart cups in the DLC similar to Shell/Banana/Leaf/Lightning. This also opens many possibilities including that maybe the Triforce Cup is actually only LoZ based tracks.

You could argue it is a retro track but just not Mario Kart retro.
Even so, the Egg cup is on the top section where all the new tracks are, and the Triforce cup is on the bottom with the retro tracks.
Yes, it seems like the DLC feels free to break many conventions of the main MK8 game: a character very far outside the Mario universe is introduced, a randomized track, an old track is remade a 2nd time, and the DLC cups don't follow the structure of the main game.
^Why isn't Link on the Mario Kart 8 list? By the time they are relased the DLC will be out but the space between Mario & Yoshi could be big enough for Villager & Link tho.
@arronishere: This information should be updated when the second wave comes. Why would Luigi not work in Mario Kart 8, anyway?
Wasn't my question "Why isn't Link on the Mario Kart 8 list?" tho?
Let's face it: Ninendo doesn't want everyone to just buy Link and have three games support it.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

They probably aren't shown to be supported as Link and Villager are DLC for MK8. maybe once the DLC is released they will become supported, or it might take some time but I think they will get support at some time.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Let's find out what amiibo does in Mario Kart 8 first before we start reserving judgment over why certain (DLC) characters didn't make it in.

I think it would be cool if it is something similar to Smash Bros. A Racer that learns how you race and tries to counter it and become better. But I am only expecting something like vehicle skins for the characters. Like you have the Mario figure well the vehicle you are using has Mario paint on it no matter what character you are playing.

I don't know if somebody has brought this up yet, but here goes.
Are the new DLC tracks going to be playable online for people who haven't downloaded them?
I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Highly doubt it as then why would you buy the dlc? The user will most likely be split into those with dlc and those without possible with the option to join those without.
