As awesome and amazing that free game is, I'm EXTREMELY disappointed that we only got 4 different games to choose from. I already own all 4 of them. I know it probably won't happen, but I'm really hoping that NoA will allow us to have the same 10 choices that the UK gets.

Moral of the story? Don't buy every game Nintendo makes.

The game looks great except for one thing, the battle mode I mean who thought of having race tracks be arenas for battle mode? This will just lead to frustration because you will rarely see a single player because the arenas will be to big, and the whole arena is just a loop and it repeats. Who else thinks that adding race tracks to battle mode is a bad idea?

UPDATE: Bowser just ate some cake and it was yummy

I think it's too early to say without actually playing it.
Keep in mind that they've gone to the three lives then you're out approach from earlier Mario Kart games, so not coming across players as frequently might be a good thing, otherwise you could lose all your balloons really quickly.

I'm also interested to hear details about the online battle mode, if there is one.
Everyone assumes it'll be there, but we haven't really heard any confirmation of that as far as I know.
I'd imagine that if there is one, that it'd just be four players rather than eight or 12 to keep it from getting to hectic, but we'll have to wait and see.

So it seems that all videos uploaded to YouTube using Mario Kart TV will be automatically Content ID'd by Nintendo. What are your thoughts on this? I understand why Nintendo is doing it. I mean, it IS their content no matter what amount of editing goes into making it look cool. I don't agree with it but I see their point.

It doesn't bother me at all.

I was hoping they wouldn't put in Baby Rosalina, but I kinda knew they were going to anyways. I was hoping that she was one of those characters that didn't get that sort of treatement...but oh well.

Seriously though, I'd be a lot happier if they put in Il Piantissimo or Nabbit instead of Baby Rosalina or Pink Gold Peach. Il Piantissimo is about racing, right? On foot, yes, but racing nonetheless. And Nabbit is playable in New Super Luigi U and the new Mario Golf. Why not throw them in there?

Is there to was though when even at like of than with it?

Games I'm currently playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked and Persona 3 FES

As far as the Youtube thing, Nintendo has to "pay" for all those free games they are giving away somehow. Might as way make a little extra coin with one of your biggest games.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Their game, their service, they upload it for you. All you do is play. You do very little editing using tools they provide. Why should you get paid for it as well?

I'm not watching the video, but are you saying it's lame? Is it really just like we saw in the direct, which seemed really simple and boring and easy, or is there some sort of epic part they didn't show in that trailer?

I like makin' games!
Future Pinball games!
Petit Computer games!!
and SmileBASIC games! (Whenever that releases...)
Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

I'm not necessarily saying it's lame, but I felt that I would expect more out of this track, design wise. You would think it'd go crazy with antigravity & gilders everywhere, but it doesn't. All I'm saying, don't keep your expectations too high.

At its best, I thought it was mediocre, design wise, not gameplay/experience wise.

It does seem disappointing that that there aren't any arenas for battle mode, but I guess I'll just have to try it and see.

It seems completely fair that Nintendo claims the videos uploaded from Mario Kart TV. If you were playing on PS4 or Xbox1 you'd have to pay to play online. I consider this to be a preferable alternative.

I don't know why people are complaining about Bowser's Castle or Rainbow Road. I think they both look awesome.

I'm satisfied with Bowser's Castle (maybe people were wanting more out of it). As for Rainbow Road, it's visuals / art style look awesome, however, its track design feels a little bland. There's not much to it.

The way I look at this, Mount Wario is the most varied track, Bowser Castle feels like it should be the end of the Nitro Cup, and Rainbow Road is really good eye candy. That said, Rainbow Road (N64) certainly picks up the slack, being both a blast from the past and an exciting thrill ride. If only they hadn't made it seem so short.

Either way, it all looks incredible, so I'm not complaining, anyways.

A nifty calendar I made and then forgot to advertize!

Ok, this thread has treaded far too deep into spoiler territory. I understand this is a thread about a game gearing up for release and that discussion about said game will likely be about the gameplay that has already been revealed by people who have played the game.

That's fine, but I just don't want people to ruin the magic when I play for the first time and going into several aspects of the game with my mind already made up because of someone else's opinion. Personally, I find a game much more fun when I don't already know everything about it.

Continue to go about your business, you guys did nothing wrong. I'll just be sitting out ths thread until the game releases.

Bowser's Castle is pretty awesome, but wow, Rainbow Road is ridiculously short and looks easier than most of the past ones. I was expecting something more along the lines of 7's, a long, challenging one lap course and that they would do more with the space station idea and antigravity. What an anticlimactic way to close out an amazing game.

Making it shorter would be an improvement. The original was a big borefest that was too dang long

The new Bowser Castle and Rainbow Road look awesome anyway :)
