It's funny because they are arguing with the person that finds the (unreleased) remakes for pokemon Ruby and Sapphire super disappointing because they feel like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.
@SuperMalleo YOUR ICON IS THE REACTION OF MARIO READING THIS THREAD, YOU WIN, YOU JUST WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
Why is the OP allowed to post all these off-topic threads in this forum? Most of the threads posted by the OP here have nothing to do with Wii U or Wii U-specific games.
For some one who understands Nintendo so much, I'm never nit picky when it comes to the quality as I love and enjoy every game that I play. Sure some games could've been better like Dark Moon but even then I still had a great time with it.
Mario isn't someone who you can say is uncreative or not so like he was before because the character is aimed for a wide audience. If you don't like a particular Mario game, someone else will like it. Its amazing to see that users here refuse to admit the fact that 3D Land was a game that did well for its time and that it is great for what it is especially its visuals and presentation.
^If you ask me, sometime controls can really ruin the experience.
And I think that's the case is SM3DWorld. The game tries to control on the same barebones control scheme that Super Mario Bros 3 did. And while, in 1990, that worked just fine, today, it feels backwards, and IMO is incredibly irritating. If you ask me, there is absolutely no reason SM3DWorld (or any of the post Wii NSMB games) shouldn't have:
Analog stick controlled running (as in, you don't have to push a button to run, instead just strongly pushing the analog stick)
360° movement, not 8-way (in 3DWorld, obviously not NSMB)
Mapping 3 completely different actions to different buttons (run, pick up, and attack)
Maybe this is because I grew up on Mario 64 and Sunshine, but these control quirks actively ruin my experience with a lot of newer Mario games. They just seem so much more difficult and confusing to control.

I believe the reason is that 3D World is designed as a multiplayer game with Wiimotes (w/o Nunchucks) in mind.
@iKhan I agree that controls are very important, bad motion controls are why I never got past the Sealed Temple in Skyward Sword (yes, the first dungeon) as Link wouldn't do the directional slashes that are expected to kill Skulltulas.

Ah yeah, I forgot about that. I'm so accustomed to using my Wii Remote with a Nunchuck that I kind of forgot the standard config is w/o.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
Although to be fair, there is one interesting thing that might make Mario appear to be in decline. When was the last major new Mario character introduced, outside of an RPG? The next Wario or Bowser or Koopalings or Petey Piranha or E Gadd or whatever else?
