So far the NSMB series is the only one they're milking

NSMB isn't as bad as people pretend it is. The DS game sucked--felt pretty dull to me. Whereas the Wii version had awesome multiplayer. That was a big difference. Then you can argue the 3DS and Wii U games have no big differences but all of these games are on separate consoles. To me NSMB U is what Super Mario World was to Super Mario Bros. 3: a slight upgrade on a new system.

That's exactly what I mean with Peach, Rosalina AND Daisy being captured... except for the dream world bit... that's just like "and it was all a dream". It worked for Wizard of Oz but hasn't since. But to have three Princesses captured especially to three different locales could give it that sense of epic proportions that could bring it back to earth (pun intended).

Sorry dude, that's not gonna happen. Prepare yourself for Mario Galaxy X Starfox! Or maybe Super Mario Bros. X Sonic the Hedgehog? I wouldn't be surprised.

I hope it's more like Mario 64/Mario Galaxy in that it has one big central hub the connects to other worlds. Actually, what would really be cool is if there was a future world to visit where Bowser has won, like the Neo Bowser City track on Mario Kart 7 suggests.

Pikmin fact of the week: The Pearly Clamclamps in Pikmin 1 can still attack and eat Pikmin even after being defeated. They are the only creatures in the game able to do so.

I have to admit, a Mario and Sonic crossover platformer would be fantastic if done properly. I'm surprised neither Nintendo or SEGA have ever gone ahead and tried it, especially when you consider how much money they'd probably make from it.

I can't think of anything worse. Maybe it's just I'm not a fan of the Sonic "attitude" he's developed since the mid-late 90s! I'd probably not buy it unless it's hailed as 'better than galaxy'. Even then I'd need to see some preview vids!
They're more likely to make Wario playable again like they did in Mario64 DS. On that note it'd be nice to see Waluigi either get his own game or become intergrated into a Mario story, whether he's playable or not. Anyone else agree?

Waluigi having his own game is about as bad it gets.

I think hating a potentially good 3D Mario game because Sonic's in it seems a bit petty, but that could just be me. And who's to say it's modern Sonic rather than classic Generations style Sonic?

Also, I'd definitely love to see Wario and Waluigi as playable in a 3D Mario game. The latter being playable could even make up for his non existence in Super Mario 64 DS!

Waluigi existing is bad enough, if they had to give Wario a brother to better mirror Mario they could've had a tiny bit of creativity with his name. Might as well give them their own deformed Yoshi.

I would much rather a Super Mario Sunshine 2, that game would look amazing in HD, I loved Galaxy 1, 2 wasn't so great in my oppinion

Meh, Super Mario Sunshine's the type of game which needs a spiritual successor, not a direct sequel. After all, how many more areas can you add to Isle Delfino? Not too many.

And I think the tropical theme would get pretty old if it was used in two whole Mario games.

Agreed. That sounds amazing.

And as far as Sonic goes, please no...
3D Mario games are always top quality, whereas Sonic games are always average, so if anything Sonic would just bring down the quality of what could otherwise be amazing.
If you have to do it, then do it with 2D Mario which tends to be kind of boring these days anyway.

It's not that I would hate it JUST because Sonic is in it. I used to love sonic and I've got all his games from the Master System and Megadrive on my VC (yes I know I could've got them cheaper elsewhere but thats besides the point) and back in the wars I'm ashamed to admit I preferred Sonic over Mario! But since going 3D and gaining voices (kinda) then I'm sticking to Mario. It's, as has been said, the quality of the Sonic games are average at best.

An open world Mario game where we have to travel to Isle Delfino for part of it would be good, but not for the whole game to be based on the Island again.

We have a Sonic and Mario crossover. It's called Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games, in the same way that Nintendo Land is a new IP. :P

I'd like to say that I recommend my my Backloggery, but I haven't updated it in a long time!

NSMB isn't as bad as people pretend it is. The DS game sucked--felt pretty dull to me. Whereas the Wii version had awesome multiplayer. That was a big difference. The DS game wasn't very good, but it had some really fun minigames. It's not the fact that the sequels were bad games - its just that they were lazy. Barely upgrading the graphics, reusing music, not even bothering to continue the minigame idea. Super Mario World was very different to Super Mario Bros. 3 when compared to the difference between any of the 4 NSMB games.

Yes. Have to say I still don't enjoy 2D Mario as much as his 3D games but I have to wonder if I just don't enjoy Sonic as much because I'm older now.
