I have the PC version.

While it doesn't compare to World of Goo (and I'm only comparing it due to the art style and half the team working on it), I still really enjoyed it. The soundtrack in particular was AMAZING. Beats out Journey, Kid Icarus: Uprising or any other game you mention for soundtrack this year. "And I've got this box of memories"

I must say, this game seems best suited for a portable experience. I'd kill for a 3DS version, or far more likely a port to Android/iOS.

I disagree wholeheartedly. It's possible you and I are simply looking for different things in Gabler's work, but as a fan of World of Goo for its story and atmosphere, not its gameplay, that game was just a warm-up for Little Inferno. Add to that the gameplay in Little Inferno meaning much more, story-wise, than World of Goo's and I feel like it's all around a better package. Of course, I didn't think World of Goo really got good until the end of Chapter 3/the beginning of Chapter 4, so if you felt differently then that pretty much explains it. But one thing we can agree on is that beautiful, sublime soundtrack. "I've got the fireplace that burns at a hundred billion degrees"

I would so kill burn for an iOS port.

I'll agree that the story in Little Inferno was better, but simply because it felt much more connected, while World of Goo felt more episodic. I'll also give it the bonus of having more humor, since World of Goo was often a lot more subtle and not nearly as dark (though I felt Goo was a bit more condescending in its humor (how else do I describe it?) at times).

Yeah, I probably am looking for the gameplay moreso, and World of Goo succeeded there for me. The building was fun, the physics were great, and the frequent additions/changes to the gameplay kept it from getting repetitive. Little Inferno is a bit more simplistic and a bit less rewarding (I felt more accomplished building a huge tower compared to finding a combo) and World of Goo had more replay value and a longer campaign.

The music in World of Goo also wins in my opinion, but that's merely a case of astonishing LP vs. astonishing EP since WOG had around double the music.

well that is true. I will say I mainly prefer World of Goo because of it's more traditional gameplay and that I enjoyed it more as an addicting puzzle game. I very much enjoy traditional video game gameplay. But yeah in terms of story this game is so much more. Like if I wanted to nitpick I will say it's almost too relentless with satire but most of it is really funny and I'm genuinely interested in the story.

I will admit while I think so called hardcore gamers complaining about casual games and iOS gaming and whatever is often really dumb, I love how it just buries it. Not just in the game but with interviews it's obvious they basically set out to take the dumbest new age casual gaming idea possible and make it better than anything like it just to show how better they are. I can respect that.

I think I liked pretty much everything about World of Goo more. Sure Little Inferno is more daring and is a lot darker which I like but everything else wasn't as good. I mean the music in Little Inferno was awesome but.... it's pretty hard to beat this....

Great game but my expectations were pretty high. Maybe too high. It didn't exceed them it just burst into flames and its' smoke billowed underneath the weatherman.

Very interesting game. I bought this from the sale and I've been playing it mostly on just the gamepad. Works better that way, I think. Best part of Little Inferno is trying to figure out those different combos. Good game but the full price they're asking is just too much for a game like this, I think.

Is there a way to re-view the ending without going through it again?

There's a special combo you use to finish the game; I believe the ending runs whenever you make that combo. I haven't tried doing it after I've beaten the game, so I'm not certain.

I beat the game last night, and I thought it was amazing. It wasn't necessarily the most fun game, but it has spectacular music and memorable characters. I also liked the art style a lot.

I like how the ending didn't suck. Sadly this is an increasingly rare occurrence in gaming. Or anything.

Why do people try and compare this game to World of Goo? Same developer, but entirely different games :-/

I'm also surprised people take this game seriously. Its entire existence is to make fun of Zynga with dark ironic humour. I barely consider it a game. This game here is games-is-art.

same art style and a very similar sense of humor and World of Goo has some similar themes too. But yeah gameplay-wise it is pratically day and night.

I'm still really confused on what you do in this game. Can anyone explain to me? :P

Why do people point to their wrists when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

A. As stated before, the art style and sense of humor. There's also the experimental feeling of the game, and the fact that Gabler only has 2 releases.

B. I wouldn't call it a mockery of Zynga. They said it was a mix of mind-numbingly casual games which I liken moreso to 99 cent "games" like Alchemy then Zynga (the latter which I have utter contempt for) and The Yule Log holiday special

yeah probably. The entire game is pretty clearly about consumerism.

Should someone make a new little inferno thread in the Wii U eShop section, or should we just continue to discuss in this one?
