I cannot wait for this game! I unfortunately did not preorder it, so I haven't been able to try out the beta. But, from what I've heard said about it, it sounds like it will be great! (I've also heard good things about the soundtrack!)
I had been a little curious, as all I had heard so far was that it would be controlled via Wiimotes; no word on the gamepad. However, I just read today here, from Kyle Gabler, that it will in fact use the gamepad:
You can play with either a wiimote or the gamepad – and the gamepad is, unexpectedly, a really natural way to play. Currently it’s single player only, though we are looking into updating with co-op supporting gamepad and multiple wiimotes.
I think multiplayer would be a great fit for this game!
Also, Kyle said to be on the lookout for a new trailer later this week.
Anyone else just as excited for this? And, also, are you going to get it for Wii U or for PC?
Cant wait what 2D Boy has in store. Hopefully there will something awesome about getting the Wii U version. Like you can use the Wii U Pro Controller or something. I hevent even seen the gameplay and I already know I want this to be the 1st thing I download from the Wii U Eshop
I have absolutely no idea what the game really is. It's hard for me to be estatic, yet I know it will probably be amazing. I look forward to figuring out what the game will somewhat play like.
Best thread ever

We already have a good idea, of how it will play; you burn stuff and see what happens! (Well, that's the jist of it, at least!)
We need gameplay videos...this is pretty much the only launch title that interests me for the Wii U.
I, actually, would rather not watch any gameplay videos. I want to experience it the way it was intended to be experienced: jumping in and figuring it out for yourself. I probably already know too much about it!
I saw gameplay images in Nintendo Power. All you do is burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, BURN, BURN, BURN, BURN, BURN, BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kinda want to though, because all I know is that its pretty much a fireplace simulator where you burn whatever. It's not like the trailer would show you EVERYTHING if it was gameplay one. But I kinda wanna know how this whole game works out.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Also, there is a very HUGE variety of things to burn. One thing that caught my eye was a small tree in a pot that was all 8-Bit like something out of the NES era, it even stated having the Ducks from Duck Hunt fly around it. But alas, like everything else, it was burned.
Gameplay footage should never be shown on the internet. I love the idea of a company going out of their way to keeping their game as much of a secret as possible in order to actually surprise everyone. I'm excited.
Sounds similar to what Crashmo is to Pushmo except far less linear.
If this reaches the same brilliance as World of Goo (which would be way too difficult a task) then I will plunk my money down on a Wii U for this game.
If not, that's to be expected.
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

From what I've heard, it's not a good idea to compare it to World of Goo. They're completely different; the atmosphere, the story, the gameplay, everything. Only the art style is the same, and that's because Kyle Gabler also did the artwork for World of Goo. That's the only connection.

Regardless, since it's the same guys making it, I'm really looking forward to this game!

It's really not the same guys...
But it sort of is... So it's a safe bet if he liked World of Goo, he will like this game.
Little Inferno also reminds me a bit of this, which is just a fire simulator. I've had quite a bit of fun with it, but all you can do is burn wood. Since I liked this so much, I'm sure I'll like a similar thing that allows me to burn lots of stuff, rather than just wood!
This is the first game I bought on the eShop (or the Ushop?) and might I just say. 2D Boy has done it again
The creepy atmosphere, the story that leaves you wanting more with each minute. Oh and the fact that it's set in fireplace setting, a little joke towards those fireplace apps/games for wii is hilarious
oh and some of it is disturbing to say the least... >.> but very entertaining
