Just a thought, but how cool would it be if Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze had a DLC that added a level creator. There could be an online aspect allowing users to download levels based on most downloaded recently or all time, highest rated etc. Furthermore, you could have weekly and monthly challenges to select levels with leader boards. Any thoughts?!!
I share an opinion with Yahtzee on User Generated Content. There's a lot of it, and I mean a lot of it, and most of it is really, really bad. That doesn't mean that we don't get the occasional gold, nor does it stop some players from enjoying making and playing their own levels, but if I wanted to make my own game, I'd just go study up on how to do it.
They could add it. I particularly don't care. I just wouldn't use it.
I see your points. However, I think with the gamepad it would be easier to design levels in shorter time frames. Also if the interface to download levels are organized properly, you could filter out the bad ones. Although, I do see your points.

I remember Mario & Donkey Kong for the DSi had this feature...and yes, there were a lot of levels. And most of them were bad, bland and boring. I mean it's a good idea on paper, but like apps on the iPhone, you have to search for the good ones

You know I find it funny how the players can come up with ways to use the Gamepad and Nintendo themselves can't.
This is quite a moot point. I can come up with a hundred ideas for any video game or system, but that really doesn't change anything nor make the maker look bad.

I guess when you think about it, some will use it and some won't. Couldn't hurt adding it for those who would. It just adds more replay-ability to the game. This way you will keep coming back

I think most people would unintentionally troll if Level Creator came to those games.
They think they would be making good content but its actually bad and difficult. Lol

Mind you, I don't care to play most user-created content... I just love dabbling myself. I've made more than a few masterpieces in stuff like Trackmania and even the old Tony Hawk games. I have an addiction to diving into a game's mechanics and exploiting them to take level design in original, outrageous directions. The ability to do that in a modern Nintendo classic would be unreal.
While I enjoy Level Creators I don't like custom levels to be force on me when I play online. So maybe if there was a match making thing I could join that would just be a bunch of random user created levels I would enjoy it but if I try to find a normal match but can't do to all the custom levels then please don't
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Though I wouldn't play a 2D Mario platformer nowdays even with a gun pointed to my head, I'm not against a level creator in the next game. Someone at Nintendo apparently said they are not against it either IIRC. Yes there would be a lot of crap, but a rating system and Miiverse feedback would prevent people wasting time on silly material. I don't want to see an editor in 3D Mario or Donkey Kong because they are more complex games though.
User generated content would be useless if 2D Mario games were still interesting, but the actual state of affairs is that the NSMB serie is getting lazy and uninspired. What's the name of that Super Mario Bros. hack structured like Metroid? Extra Mario or something like that?! I'd kill babies to play content of that caliber.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Honestly, I really like the New series. Sure, it's nothing new. Sure, it's still just a glorified obstacle course, but it's a darn good one! I love the characters, the levels, the enemies, the "hidden" objects. Ok, so it's not the same level of challenge as the new DKC game, which I also happen to absolutely adore, but it's still head-and-shoulders above most of the rest of the Platformers out there, some of which are even unwinnable by design.
My experience with The LittleBigPlanet user created levels is it's not worth the effort for the devs or the players. There's a reason people go to college to learn level design fundamentals.
I do not see why people are so negative about this. I am certain people will be able to make cool levels and it adds replayability to the game. Just hoping there would not be to much limits on it.
