Disappointed in the lack of 2014 Wuu games, TBH.

Void

It was better than 2013, other than the fact that 80%+ of the games shown won't be coming out until 2015.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

Depends how you define won. I define it as the most stuff available immediately. (Or certainly within the next few months).

E3 isn't over yet. Everyone else plays their cards at their big stage show. Nintendo doesn't.

Grim Fandango - a 20 yr old point and clicker being made for a console without a mouse; a game that stands alone for it's time and certainly does not need any sort of reboot or remake. Desperate stuff, even if it is a classic game.

When the game is released on the Wii U later, it will come with both touchscreen and Wii remote control schemes, which are even better than the mouse

Similar. This is pretty crazy news I hadn't heard.

Also Grim Fandango wasn't 'point & click'. Its tank controls like Resident Evil. So it adapts to controllers really well.

It really did have awful controls, it's true.

I'm normally not one to get excited for re-releases, but Grim Fandango is gonna get a lot of people excited. You can't play that game on any modern operating system, so for a lot of people it's lost to history. It's a lot harder to find a computer running Windows 98 these days than it is to find a console from the same era and pop a game in. Same goes for the most other Lucas Arts adventure games.

I think this year could have been great if there was a proper Starfox and Metroid trailer, much more on the new Zelda, good 3DS titles and more 2014 dates (since everything seems to come in 2015). Well Miyamoto works on a new Starfox and we could see it this week, but the game seems to be pretty far off (experimental phase). In fact all Miyamoto games seem to be in the experimental phase from the sound of it. We could still see some 3DS titles. I can't believe there will be only new Pokemons (or rather remakes)!

And yet it is such an awesome game that I don't even care.

With a bit of effort it can run on XP, not too hard to find a PC running that.

The presentation was very entertaining. However, I watch E3 for games, and what Nintendo showed was mixed for me. Some looked great (Zelda, Smash Bros, Bayonetta), some looked interesting (Paint shooter), and some are games I'm not interested in at all (Toad thing, Yarn Yoshi, Mario Maker). Starfox never held the appeal for me that others have for it. Lack of 3rd parties is really troubling.

Sony: B-
A lot more to present, but the pacing sucked. Great beginning, terrible middle, good ending. No Vita focus makes me sad. Grim Fandango makes me happy. 1st and 3rd party efforts look very promising. No Man's Sky is going to need to come out before I'm wowed by it, because I have serious doubts that what it is will actually make for a great game.

Microsoft: A-
Perfect pacing, and a lot of things that I want very badly. New COD actually looks interesting, Sunset Overdrive looks fun, Forza looks great as always, other 3rd parties I'm interested in like Tomb Raider and Evolve, but all of that pales in comparison to what they did with Halo. The Master Chief Collection looks like it will offer more value than The Orange Box and Metroid Prime Trilogy, which is absolutely insane. All four games, with every multiplayer map, with every game playable online (including the first one, making it the first time it's playable online barring PC), with every game improved graphically (even if 3 and 4 are just a framerate and resolution bump, although that really doesn't matter as much for 4), and for $60 on one disc? They just made every Xbox fan very happy. And giving the Halo 5 beta with it is great too.

Ubisoft: B-
Great pacing, I like Aisha, New Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow 6 look really cool. The new UbiArt game shows how awesome that engine continues to be.

EA: D
Ugh. Terrible presentation. Mirror's Edge looked cool, I guess? Anytime a sports game is shown at a press conference I just gag.

Interesting Nintendo exclusives:

  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Zelda U
  • Captain Toad
  • Yoshi's Wooly World
  • Bayonetta 2
  • Devil's Third (yeah, I know this wasn't at the presentation proper)
  • Kirby: Rainbow Curse
  • SSB 3DS/Wii U
  • Mario Maker

Interesting PS exclusives:

  • InFamous: First Light
  • LBP3
  • Entwined
  • Abzu

Interesting Xbox exclusives:

  • Sunset Overdrive
  • Ori & the Blind Forest
  • Inside
  • Cuphead

Interesting multiplats:

  • COD:AW
  • Batman:AK
  • the TALOS Principle
  • No Man's Sky
  • Mighty No. 9

These only represent my own personal interests, and I only chose to list games where we got to see in-game footage.

In terms of presentation quality, I felt like it went N > MS > S. They all showcased interesting games, though.

I really wanted this E3 to be better, and the worst part is...its shortcomings could have been fixed very easily! No new games, just...
Ok, seriously, Nintendo, I know you don't like to do this, but start making teaser cinematics for your games. No one's gonna get hurt if you make a little cinematic for Star Fox U showing parts of the Arwing and then Fox's face or something. Stop focusing so much on just games. Reveal more than just Palutena, the character everyone and their mother was expecting...

The games that WERE shown, however, were pretty cool. Mario Maker and Captain Toad's Stolen Hud From SM3DW should have been shown at the Treehouse thing...
Bayonetta 1 being bundled alongside B2 made me squee like a fangirl and the new Zelda...is kind of a mixed bag. I love the open world thing, and at the end of the day I DON'T CARE about the art style or how it ages, I just wanna play the game! However, they really should have chosen "darc and gritteh!" art style everyone apparently wanted. Realistic Zelda games simply sell better, that's a fact, and I want both the game and the Wii U to sell as better as possible...
Also I wouldn't have to deal with morons talking about how the new Zelda doesn't have a realistic art style like the tech demo.
ALSO what about Mario Kart 8 DLC?

Also, this year's E3, as a whole, sucked. Outright sucked. And I honestly don't really have much hope left for the videogame industry...

Man, I sure am glad I'm finally getting into anime, tv shows and movies. I'll get a PS2 and an Xbox 360 when I have the money and call it a generation.
(Get it? Instead of "call it a da..." I'm gonna leave now).

I have the say the best thing about Nintendo's E3, is that we see that Iwata's not totally clueless. We can see that Nintendo is listening, and that they are aware of the western market.

Great E3 2015.
Wait, it's still 2014?
Could've fooled me; all those 2015 release dates. I thought Nintendo wanted to sustain the Mario Kart momentum?
