Topic: Lets Prove 3rd Parties wrong #OperationPlatinum

A fan made movement is currently in the works and it’s called Operation Platinum. The social movement is calling for Nintendo fans to purchase Bayonetta 2 on Wii U and help the game shift over one million copies. Of course some people will see this as Nintendo’s job, but that hasn’t stopped fans being vocal about it. The movement is a direct response to third-party publishers that say Nintendo fans don’t purchase their games and the console isn’t worth supporting.

Not to sound negative, but wouldn't a game that has a more universal appeal be smarter for this kind of "movement"?

Hack n' Slash games don't have a huge audience in general, the first game didn't even sell all that well despite being out on multiple platforms. This doesn't sound very well thought out.

It's the only choice we have. It's the only M-rated game coming for sure, and it's a quality title. Bayonetta 2 deserves as many sales as it can get.

To be more specific, it was Ubisoft who said "mature" titles don't sell on Nintendo systems, so using Bayonetta 2 as the example makes more sense. On topic: Bayo 2 was a day 1 buy from me, even before the bundle, but I say let's prove 3rd parties wrong.

He no have the hespect or nating!

I'm planning on getting it, but I'm not sure my budget will allow a day one purchase unfortunately.

Isn't Devil's Third releasing this year?

This is what I want to see. We must speak with our wallets. We want m rated titles that use the hardware? Bayonetta 2 and devils third are the userbase's chance to prove it.

Some disappointed people will be appearing come the start of 2015. A Nintendo published "mature" title is not what third parties are talking about (even if it is a small stepping stone to solving a bigger issue), they're talking about their own "mature" content and they're right.

Being Nintendo published doesn't matter. We don't blindly buy games just because Nintendo publishes it. Paper Mario Sticker Star is cold hard proof of that. What matters is that it's a mature-rated title made by a 3rd party. M-rated games are capable of selling on Nintendo, but not when we are given god awful delayed ports with no DLC support and missing features.

This won't bring back 3rd parties just buy the game if you want to don't get it for any other reason.

But you're not proving third parties right, at best the only thing this would prove is that you have to be Nintendo published for a "mature title" to succeed. Because coincidentally that is exactly what it looks like. (bolded) Those are excuses, which has happened on every platform. Paper Mario Sticker Star sold close to two million according to Nintendo. Those "mature titles can't succeed" line was strictly relating to Ubisoft's content, I doubt they'll speak for others.

Bringing back 3rd parties isn't the point of the movement. The reason the movement was created was to prove 3rd parties wrong and show that we can support M-rated titles on Nintendo. If anything, it gives support for Platinum, who absolutely deserves it, and it shows Nintendo that they weren't wrong for funding games like this.

People please don't buy the title just to show off to Ubisoft and Third parties, just buy Bayonetta 2 because you want to play it.
