So many Lego games I think they should be classed as a genre now.
Sounds cool but I wouldn't pay full price for one film and couple of levels to bridge the story from episode 6 -7.

I'm very torn on this. On one hand it's safe and simple to say that I love Star Wars and the Lego Star Wars games so I can't wait to play it and I know I'll love it.
On the other hand it's a Warner Bros product. With a Season Pass. About one film. In a game series that used to have at least 3 films per release. And there's exclusive content not on the version I want.
So screw Warner Bros, Sony, Season Passes, exclusive content and the AAA gaming industry as a whole. It's already managed to spoil the game in my eyes and it was only officially announced a few hours ago.
And Nintendo are supposedly the most evil company in the industry for locking acess away to one dungeon behind an amiibo that comes with most copies of the game and that one could easily borrow from a friend? Pull the other one.
The game industry is in a right hole and it digs deeper every day.
As mentioned before, I hope LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens won't freeze as much as the other games. For instance, LEGO Dimensions freezes like mad on Wii U (my brother experienced 'em every 30 minutes) and so did LEGO City Undercover (brilliant game, though). I seriously think these games have been experiencing far more problems than when TT Games released the Complete Saga and Indiana Jones. Another is, again, with LEGO Dimensions on Wii U, where the game didn't respond when a specific figure (in my brother's case, Wildstyle) was placed on the portal. Apparently it's a common issue, and lots of people have had to receive new NFC figures from LEGO.
Back on-topic with LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, expect a free LEGO Star Wars figure to come with the game (it'll probably be mentioned towards the release date unless I am completely wrong ).
@Neko_Ichigofan It won't be compatible on Nintendo 3DS, just the New 3DS? That's probably going to annoy fans who've just got the original handheld, but it could boost the New 3DS's sales in a way. Whelp, I'm happy I have my New one to play the game on.
@DarthNocturnal: well that first issue I pointed out alone means that I'm going to get it pre-owned (the fact that it is a WB product). I might as well wait for a discount in that case.
Release date: June 28th. Those sales/marketing folk are clueless - I can't believe the release date isn't May 4th... what a missed opportunity (unless they change it) to make Star Wars fans go wild and build hype for the game.
@TheLastLugia You could always wait a few years for the inevitable The Complete-Complete Saga to be released.
@Monkey_Balls: well the sad part is you can say with 1000000000000% confidence that unless you steal the game (not advocating that at all but then again this IS a WB game...) if you buy it day 1, WB will come back and bite you in the butt for that show of faith. Shadow of Mordor, the Arkham Batman games (still waiting on Knight but it's definitely going to happen) and most recently Mortal Kombat X have all had re-releases that include the content one misses out on for buying early approximately a year after the original launch.
There is not a chance in hell that WB will miss out on the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ they can get from releasing a Star Wars game shortly after the film, then releasing it again shortly before the next one with the Season Pass DLC included, then doing the same for episodes 8 & 9 and THEN releasing the 'complete' edition of all 3 after they have raked it in from the original individual episodes. WB wins, WB wins some more and WB makes a lot of money. And we're the cattle providing it. I for one have long gone past the thought of WB getting money off me, I still have some standards so I won't pirate any games or films of there's but I will either get it pre-owned or lend it from someone. I would also advise people to seriously consider doing the same. Not my place to tell you what to do but it makes me sad whenever I see that someone has pre-ordered a WB game. They isn't nice people. They don't deserve your money in advance.
@TheLastLugia I totally agree, but where do we draw the line and finally make a purchase? It's the same with the Star Wars films: released individually, as a trilogy, then as a complete saga - not to mention the re-releases on Blu-Ray or the (inevitable) upcoming singular, trilogy and complete saga releases regarding episodes VII, VIII and VIIII. Every franchise does it: remasters, remakes, re-releases, etc.
Like you, I also love Star Wars and the Lego games, but do I wait for a price drop or new addition with extra content, or simply purchase as I wish to play them? We could wait for the Complete-Complete saga, but that'll be at least three years from now - I think I'd rather play them before then...
@Monkey_Balls: yeah I suppose it's a common tactic not just in this industry but a lot of others. It's just infuriating that I am infuriated at an announcement of a Lego Star Wars game, love TT, the concept of the gameplay, LEGO and the franchise, it's just the AAA publisher has done almost everything they can to dampen my excitement. Maybe we can split it 50/50 and share one copy?
But my grievances with WB aside I can't wait to see more of the game, I think The Force Awakens is ripe for the TT style of humour and they do deserve their success. Wii U version for me.
It's going to be interesting to see what the preorder minifigure is, they're often characters you can't find in other sets.
Edit: Star Destroyer microbuild for preordering a standard edition, helmet-less stormtrooper Finn on top of that if you order the deluxe edition on PS4/XBOne. I suppose I can dust off the Bone, but I'd rather have it on PC.
