It reminds me of My Sims games. Cute little characters in an rpg/ adventure story. I can't wait to play this.

Wii U future of gaming.

I normally don't care for LEGO games, but I'm super excited for this game! I pre-ordered this game at Best Buy and was given a toy of the main character! :D

That...that's not even close.

"Transforming the traditional Sims gameplay for the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms, MySims moves the player to a delightful but disorganized town where – thanks to the easy and unique controls – they can re-shape everything and make it their own. Players begin by creating their own toy-like Sim that reflects their personal style and attitudes. From pig-tails and baseball caps to dreadlocks and Mohawks, the options are endless and the style is unlike any Sims game to date. By unlocking cool new clothing, hairstyles and accessories, players explore the game's incredible depth of customization and expression ... and the characters are just the beginning! At first, the town is rundown, but the player can make it much more dynamic. Using a selection of building blocks, unique patterns and engaging creativity tools, players can design furniture and appliances, architect new homes and businesses, and re-define the entire MySims landscape!"

Synopsis stolen from IGN. Coincidentally, their videos for the game were all from Animal Crossing, which from what I'm reading here is more what they were going for.

"For the first time, the fan-favorite LEGO City vehicles and play sets come to life in LEGO City: Undercover. Players assume the identity of Chase McCain, an undercover detective armed with clever disguises. The mission is to put a stop to the fiendish Rex Fury and end his crime wave in LEGO City. As players run, drive and even fly through the city, they'll use the Wii U GamePad controller as a new police gadget.

  • The Wii U GamePad is woven seamlessly into the game-play experience. Players use it to scan for hidden clues and criminals, receive mission updates and place waypoints on an overhead city map that displays their position in real time.
  • Experience LEGO City like never before. Players will encounter familiar play sets come to life as they explore the vast city, looking for clues to bring Rex Fury to justice.
  • Players can go undercover with a variety of disguises, including a firefighter, a construction worker and even a robber, and use their unique abilities to solve puzzles and access new areas of the city.
  • There are more than 100 vehicles for players to collect and use to explore the city, including sports cars, motorcycles and even aircraft.
  • LEGO video games are known for their humor and parody, and LEGO City: Undercover delivers this and more with fully voiced characters and ambient crowds, bringing LEGO City to life."

Also taken directly from IGN.

Personally I don't see the similarities at all.

Undercover is more like a sandbox game than tomato is a fruit.
