Topic: Kotaku: Gamestop has sold out preorder deluxe Wii U stock nationwide

WalMart is the only place I've found that still has the deluxe version. But you have to buy it as part of a bundle.

Good thing you did that this morning, because it seems to be sold out now.

I know I could still buy the Basic Set, but I want the Deluxe because I heard of people who owned PS3s and 360s having issues down the line for buying the cheaper system with the smaller amount of memory. Also, I get 12 games instead of just one (my budget is $400 so getting the Basic set would only get me one game...) with NintendoLand, the Nintendo Network Premium, and some stylish stands to make my system look uber professinoal.

I just preordered my Deluxe from Toys R Us last night. Wouldn't have been my first choice but everywhere else was sold out and Walmart was way too expensive.

You could always just get a sd card or an hdd with the white one.

Probably going to wait intill january as it seems the deluxe won't be able to be found anywhere. Just means ill get halo and some 3ds games.

I got mine the first day, the man at gamestop said they were shutting off their pre-orders in about an hour since they had sold so many already. I lucked out that i got out of school early that day!

I'm getting the basic set, but my grandma keeps saying she won't let me pre-order as she believes that: "Oh don't worry they have to have enough for christmas". Makes me want to get angry.

My mom would say the same thing too, except she's talking they'll still be there for the next few days, lol. She doesn't believe they'll sell out on day 1. xD

So does every store that takes preorders on the Wii U have a limited number and aren't allowed to get more or something? I just can't see this doing nearly as well as the Wii at launch.

Went to Toys R Us today and pre-ordered it for only $20 down. My receipt says system will arrive November 18- November 25th...I better be able to pick this up day 1.

I just decided to get the Basic Set. I know I'm only really missing out on the 10% off eShop downloads, but in the end, I don't download that often for it to make a difference. Besides, I'd rather have a Wii U at day one than wait a few weeks to get the bigger, better bundle. And I can just buy an $8 8GB SD card from Big Lots, so no worries on too little space.

I just pre-ordered mine at Best Buy.

Well my only question is this — Is there any reason to believe that the deluxe edition is first run only or anything like that? I can actually be patient and wait all the way until March if I know for sure that I will be able to get a black Wii U with the digital download deals. Does anyone know for sure that more Deluxe Editions will be made and restocked?

I'd almost bet money the Deluxe edition will be around for at least most of the Wii U's run.
