If this is true on Wii U, I might have to get one sooner than expected!

Never played KH 2, so I'm hoping this turns true....

Hmm... i was just reading an interview about kingdom hearts in my game informer.
When asked if the series creator, Tetsuya Nomura would like to see a high-definition collection of kingdom hearts and kingdom hearts 2, Tetsuya responded "I do have an interest in HD versions, and I'm currently researching them. If it is possible, I would like to do something about the series being spread over many differnet consoles, too. I am thinking a lot about the future."

I'm treating this as a rumor for now, but his response does seem to lead up to this.

It's the Wii U part I don't believe in this rumor. And maybe also the idea that the two handheld ones will get the HD treatment, too. S-E rereleasing one their most successful franchises in HD format is extremely likely, though.

Doesn't this rumour come up each year? But with the 10th Anniversary it is more fitting.

@Mickey: Well, they kinda did a remake for CoM before, so...yeah. So who knows...being able to own KH1 again on a system I want to actually keep would be awesome though.

This is actually a believable rumor, since Nomura did say that he wanted to do something about all the games being spread out on various platforms and do a HD treatment of the series. This will print tons of money for Square Enix, and this is the series's tenth anniversary after all.

@Mickeymac- It wouldn't be that hard to remake or port 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep for the platforms mentioned. Remember that Chain of Memories was remade for the PS2. The only thing that could be changed/cut are the multiplayer modes (except for the Vita version), but the multiplayer could easily be made online only. I'm hoping that these HD versions of KHI, KHII, and BBS are the Final Mixes. However, the Wii U version having exclusive content puzzles me. It would make more sense for all versions to have the same content. If this turns out true, then I'll certainly buy the PS3 and Vita versions. I might even buy the Wii U version IF I buy a Wii U.

Looks like I better stop replaying 358/2 Days until E3 confirms if this rumor is true or not.

Yeah i don't really see a console kingdom hearts on anything other than a playstation. Well chain of memories had a remake on ps2 but 358/2 and birth by sleep have multiplayer so they might have to bring online play into the mix.

Please let it be true the actual games are good compared to the horrible spin-off titles. Well the spin-offs aren't horrible they're just not as good.

If this all turns out to be true, then there's hope that Kingdom Hearts 3 could be on the Wii U. I'm up for playing 358/2 Days in HD as well; there were a lot of cutscenes that could have benefited from the CGI treatment.

CoM was "meh" for me...didn't like it that much.

YES!!! Finally someone who understands me!!! CoM was the worst KH game ever!!! The other ones were just not as good 358/2 days was meh and it seemed like filler to me which bothered me even more.

Dream Drop Distance will be my very first KH game so I'm very excited at the possibility of this coming true. seems like a perfect way to quickly get up to speed on the franchise.

I will buy this in a heartbeat if it is for Vita (though will probably get for PS3 if announced). Never got to play 358/2 Days and BBS before and now would be the best time to.

The reason I didn't want to get the DS entries and Dream drop distance was because of the way that every entry in the series is connected and I only own Nintendo consoles so I couldn't play the earlier games in the series so this would be fantastic news for me if its true.
