If ANY Mario enemy were to be in Smash solely based on their influence, Goomba and Koopa deserve that spot way more than Boo. Not saying they should be, but they're the more noteable enemies.
I was so disappointed that Red Paratroopa replaced Goomba in Double Dash. They would have been perfect for each other. Also Toad was wanted in Smash for many years.

Yeah, I could disagree with 2 + 2 = 4, doesn't make it less true. Boo is in every meaning of the word a minor character. That is in no way demeaning. It still is so.
having an opinion based debate that a ghost character that appears in a bunch of mario games is a minor character by comparing it to a fact based math equation doesn't make you any more right or wrong to be completely fair. mathematiticians have often proven that one plus one doesn't always equal two I might add. don't let this derail anything.

I think that other people also realize the importance of people being vocal about how they feel and what they want to experience.
super smash bros could use alot of character additions, including all of the ones that have ever been included in the past.
I would love to see midna, a splatoon squid girl, boo, and many many more. dr.mario and many others should have been alternate options to many of the characters that are already there, so that more characters could fit into the game, of course they should still preserve their sounds and unique attributes.
But seriously, would be an amazing way to market Splatoon would be releasing Splatoon themed DLC for Smash around the game's launch! Squidgirl player, Splatoon stage, maybe even an ink gun item or one of the enemies as an assist trophy! I know that's all a long shot though...
