Katsuhiro Harada - the producer of the Tekken series - has apparantly had enough of whining fans spamming him with inane demands. As such, the developer has taken to Twitter to air his grievences. Considering the guy is quite reserved and respectful (from what I've observed), this is quite surprising.

Indeed, this situation echoes Reggie's recent "insatiable" comments regarding spoilt gamers.

Oh, and let's not forget the embarrassing Mass Effect 3 debacle.

What do you guys think? Personally, I do think there has been a rise in 'gimme, gimme, gimme' attitudes; particularly with this generation of consoles. It really has become sad, IMO.

Gamers are so picky these days. It's really annoying. I mean I can't deny I'm not picky... But if I say I'll buy the Wii U if we get Mario as a launch title... Unlike a lot of others out there I find it very hard to complain about when a company does what I wished them to do. I'll even admit that minus the reposes Skylanders: Giants looks like it has fixed a lot of issues I had with Spyro's Adventure and I'm really glad about it. As far as I see it the companies do need to ignore them a bit, but with the extent so called "fans" are whining, I don't blame them for getting angry. It's time that someone piped up about it, anyway.

Let the developers do what they want. They know what they want to do. There's far too many people with different opinions to cater to directly. Criticism is good but sometimes... it's not always the best thing to listen to "fans". Its good to get something we didn't know we wanted. Why hamper the creative process?

If you don't do this,I won't buy your game.

But the mass effect 3 ending sucked and was poorly handled. The extended cut shows that in so many ways.

And it really isnt sad its just that were in a generation were fan feedback is instant. Some people can handle it (Dan didio), while others cant as well (reggie)

These people are bugging for Voice Acting? There is no pleasing some people.

Aaaaand now I wanna buy Tekken.

Well... gamers are getting a more and more insatiable lust for video games, I'll agree with that, but going to the extent of picking on those who buy your games isn't the smartest move in the world.

Do we get listened to? Of course.
But do they have to listen to us? No.

Most of these people who complain and whine at companies obviously don't understand how priveleged they are that they can send their feedback directly.

Reggie put it rather well though... gamers are getting a more and more insatiable desire for games, they can never be satisfied.

Beyond the fact that these fans are clearly whiny jerks that should go back to Kotaku or whatever, who cares about the voice acting in Tekken?

At least before the whiny losers were going against greedy organizations, what has this guy done that's bad, even by "gaming is important apparently" standards?

(and note, anyone that goes the opposite extreme of being glad if companies don't care about fans is equally as horrible)

I believe he's just sick of it. Like any normal person would be.

While feedback is a great thing, making yourself out to be a total jerk or a spoiled 7 year old at Toys R Us, isn't going to get you what you want. Being mature and addressing the situation as professional as possible (and a little less of these "!!!!!"), will definitely get your "point" or "request" across to whom you're emailing.

The ME3 ending, IMO was a legitimate thing to whine about.

Don't dismiss it as childish unless you played the games yourselves, understand what's the complaints are about, and put some time into the series

I keep reading how western games suck so much and arent orginal on this board. If thjs id the case than why have tbe bulk of the new ip's came out of the west instead of Japan. Why os the Japanese industry have been in decline for the last few years. With the expection of a few studios where are the so called new ideas. Even half of nintendos output on the wii were outsourced by western devs.

And the boggest thing when was the last time Japanese dev tried to change the way we view not only apporaching gameplay mechanics and moving forward the art of interactive media.

Meanwhile, on other boards, people say the same thing about the Japanese games. Heck, most of those boards are Japanese...

And honestly, I can see where people are coming from, if only because a lot of media these days tend to rely on familiar themes. Creativity is, and always will be, hard to come by, at least when looking in the present. It doesn't help that the majority of gamers don't want to spend money on something creative, anyways.

Well some people in this day in age won't buy anything foreign even if it's good, they are too stubborn, I know a ton of people at my school who won't buy anything Nintendo related, not because it's "the same" but because it's not westernized

He's got a point. He just didn't need to make it rude to the people who buy the games.
Still buying Tekken Tag 2.

IMO, there is far too much focus on what a game DOESN'T have, as opposed to what it does have. Like, New Super Mario Bros. Wii without online = FAIL. The other day, someone around here said Donkey Kong Country Returns' graphics sucked. Double Dash was "ruined" by the second-driver mechanic. These are things I've read on this site. I mean, really? Fail, sucked and ruined? Some other guy's genius friends aren't buying Wii U because of its name, or so they say.

Does anyone not think that these developers and designers, creative people by nature, are not trying to make the best game possible? Like do these people NOT buy a BMW because the speedometer isn't digital? The negativity in this business is ridiculous. Sure there are things to complain about, but sheesh, there aren't enough characters in Tekken?

People just suck. If I were were a developer or ran a company and "fans" constantly complain about "everything" I do, I would have no problem telling them off.

Props to him. More devs need to tell it like it is. It's funny how it's okay for "fans" to complain, but when the ones making the games and trying to "please" snap back, oh no, hell breaks lose.

If you can't take your own medicine, then don't distribute it.
