It is recommended that if you should ever experience a fault with your console(s), that you book them in for repair with us, so that your online purchases (and save data) is retained.
If you were to dispose of any console when purchasing a replacement for instance, you will lose your online purchases, as these are tied to the console they were purchased from.
Thank you for your email, should you need further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

its funny how carefully they say "dispose" forget to mention the part where if your console is lost or stolen you lost not only all your games but also any money you may have added to your account..... I'm worried Nintendo may not even be thinking about ever implementing an account system, if they were why keep it under wraps, they must know that even announcing that an account system is in the works would increase digital sales
Thank you for DePapier for taking the time to show the counterpoint to the negative alarmists. There aren't enough people like you on the internet!!!
If people are concerned, They've never dealt with Nintendo customer support. Nintendo's level of support is one reason why I am a fan of the company AND their product.
@lz: no you don't, lol — this is the same thing we've always been told: 'have it repaired, don't return it or you'll lose everything'. If people haven't been listening yet, they're probably not gonna start now.

@Metaknight_3Raw: if it's stolen, you're poop-outta-luck unless you filed a police report.

sigh, i'd love even 'strict' account management over this no-account-management limbo we're in now. i hope they really do release it by the end of the year! :3

“By the end of the year, we will launch a system where you can purchase (content) from your computer or smartphone through strict account management.”
That's their opportunity to revamp their account system; you know Nintendo doesn't necessarily upgrade unless they have their own reason to do so.
I'm gonna hold back on getting excited just in case it's not the "purchases tied to account" system that I'm hoping for but something else. Nintendo has let me down in this way too many times before

I don't think it's a free service, so how much? & what if you've still got warrant or bought a 2 year warrant?
