Topic: Just purchased my Wii U, is there something wrong with it?

So I made a topic yesterday about picking one up, and I went out last night and picked up a deluxe with Mario Kart 8 and the pro controller. The issue I'm having with the eShop is that theres barely any games. I don't see any N64 games, and only a couple of the good SNES classics, the majority of games seem to be indie games I've already played on my PS3.

I know the system has been out for almost 2 years now so Nintendo has to have put out more than this but for some reason my system just isn't showing it. Is this a problem with my internet connection or the system itself? If it's the system I'll probably head over to Best Buy soon and replace it with a new one.

I don't think anything is wrong with it. Afaik everything you're seeing is correct.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

According to wikipedia, there aren't many games on it. Not a single N64 game.

Wow...I feel kind of ripped off.

How? They have never promoted that there are any N64 VC games. The last thig we heard was that they are still working on it.

Why should they have had to promote that? N64 games should have been there on launch.

N64 is over 20 years old? How hard would it have been to throw a couple games on? And they still don't have a SINGLE one 2 years into the SYSTEM!?!? Nintendo is being REALLY lazy on this one.

Good lord, if you wanted to play tons of VC games, buy a Wii. You buy a Wii U for Wii U games.

EDIT: And the N64 was introduced in 1996, making it 18 years old this year.

Nope, sounds like how it should be.

The VC library on WiiU isn't big.

Does Nintendo just not care about the Wii U at this point? Why is there so little?

No they are reworking the more obacure once, besides that they are working hard on too releases. You know the important stuff. And they had two years, you had two years to research a console you wanted to buu, you should have now what the VC was like and where Nintendo's priority's lie.

If they didn't care they wouldn't be making games too sell the console, if they didn't care they would work on your precious little VC. But no they care about WiiU that's why they work their butts of to make amazing games that should sell the consoles.

Perhaps because every VC title in existence can be purchased in Wii Mode?

I agree that the Wii U's VC is small, but to buy a Wii U and get worked up over that is mildly amusing. Please, keep going.

Who knows. Maybe they have a poorly assembled team handling the VC releases. I don't care much for VC games though so I've never thought that much about it.

They certainly care though. There are lots of WiiU games coming from Nintendo in the future.

Okay I never owned a Wii maybe that's why I feel burned...oh well. At least I picked up a copy of Skyward Sword, IGN said it was the best Zelda game ever made so maybe this will sooth my disappointment.

Like you I bought my Wii U for the VC initially. Unlike you, the games I wanted was Megaman X and Super Mario World and they are both on the list...so I was pretty happy. VC games will come sooner or later, you should try out the full on Wii U retail games. they are absolutely amazing and will probably make you forget about the pain and sorrow you have towards the VC library.

In my opinion, these are the 5 must buys on the Wii U,

1. Pikmin 3 (don't question, just get it)
2. Super Mario 3D World (If you can get over the cat thingy, this game is awesome)
3. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (If you're into online gameplay, this is a must buy)
4. Nintendo Land (If you have friends or family)
5. Donkey Kong Country :TF (If you like to throw your controllers hard on the wall)

Nintendo fan since 6 years of age.
Owned: SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS, 3DS, Wii U, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PSP3000.

This would be why you do research before buying, though really I'd think you'd buy a Wii U to buy new games.

Well Skyward Sword is not the best Zelda game, it's still a great one. Don't trust much in IGN reviews, some are okay while some are overreacted.

The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.
