Topic: Just how hard is Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze?

I have heard that the game is hard, but just how hard? Is it much harder than Mario, say 3D World. Or is it about the same? I really would love a challenging platformer. I would like to here your thoughts.

Well, I am losing lots of lives and I am in World 3. I need to be like in World 6-8 in Mario 3D World to lose lots of lives.

Of course difficulty is a subjective thing, but I found it harder than DKCR.

A little more bearable (ok my mind blanked out here, dunno if I spelled that right. xD) than Returns...but TF still has Mirror Mode, and you know how nightmarish that was in Returns. lol

imo, DK is much harder than 3D world. If you're up for a challenge, this is the way to go.

The levels have a much better flow to them than Returns. The platforms seem more user-friendly. The enemies are more user-friendly like, how many times did I die in Returns over a stupid little crab? I can't even count. So I'd say the difficulty is just improved. Don't hesitate getting this game as it's one of my favorite platformers now

How does this compare in difficulty to say, the later levels in rayman legends?

Found Returns much harder than TF.

It's not that hard, I was able to break the disc and case with no effort at all, same with Mario 3D world.

It's about as hard as the original DKC games were minus the wonky save system but with longer, not necessarily harder, bosses.

It's bearable, I'd say harder than most 3D World levels. Especially the boss fights. Goodness they're hard. It's still a very fun game though!

Despite my video review's statement, I actually maintained 90+ lives from the end of World 2 through the rest of the game, for what that's worth to you, lol

Tropical Freeze is an easy game to just rush trough it to the final boss (but not as easy as rushing through 3D World to the final Bowser). But what DestinyMan said, if you're going for 200% completion in Tropical Freeze, it's quite difficult. The KONG levels are much more difficult than the bosses, IMO.
And it's the hidden levels and challenges that makes Tropical Freeze great.

It's hard as nails at some points, but not to the point of annoyance. RETRO pretty much nailed the difficulty in these titles IMO. It's hard, but very rewarding.
