Thanks for the insult, bro.

You were the one flouncing around your idea like it was the answer to everything, dude, when all it took was a little thought to realize it wouldn't work.

@Mickeymac It's a fact that it would work. It's your opinion that it's stupid. Whether I was flouncing or not, which I don't believe I was, there's no reason for you to be rude.

Ok? Now Nintendo has an idea on how to keep the Wii U going near the end instead of just letting it die like the Wii.

Its kind of ironic that you're talking about opinion to him. Your comment did seem like flouncing as you were acting as though everyone has to agree with your idea. I agree with Mickeymac, I couldn't imagine playing TWEWY with a Wiimote rather than a stylus. You didn't seem to like him being rude to you but your condescending (and arrogant) tone to me could also be considered rude.

It wouldn't defeat the purpose of owning a 3ds, just kill all sales for 3ds xl. Who would buy the same handheld with a bigger screen when you could just plug the original, that costs less, into your TV?(no offense to anyone who plans on buying an XL)

They could just make a special cord maybe? The pspGO had this special AV cables so you can play all your games on the big screen, which was awesome! I think it would just display the top screen on the TV and leave the bottom screen on

@FonistofCruxis Sigh... I never said whether it was a good idea or a bad idea, I simply stated that it is a possibility. It would work, whether anybody likes it or not. You can have any opinion you like on it, but that's just like if when Isaac Newton said, "gravity pulls things toward the earth" then someone else said, "that's a stupid idea."
You don't have to think that what I said is how it should be done, but you could at least recognize the fact that it WOULD work.
You said it wouldn't work when I had already said how it would. Hence my confusion as to why you completely ignored the statement regarding how it would work.

@DudeSean I understand but personally, I don't think it would work well. As previously stated, I just don't think the Wii remote would be precise enough for a lot of DS games with heavy touch screen use.

DudeSean

As far as I know, the wii remote has pixel perfect precision. It's just harder to be as precise with your hand while using a remote rather than a stylus.
I have played on a wii before that had a DS emulator on it, and that's how it was played. So I've seen it work. I know it would be a far better choice to use the gamepad or 3DS for the touch screen, though.
I never said it would work great, simply that it would work.

can't see this happening without it being an extra product or charge for being able to do so. would involve a lot of hardware integration so i doubt it. also seems unlikely they'll allow you to have your VC content cross-system for free either.

yeah this is what i heard, but only a small amount. they need some recoding to be streamable onto the pad.

It might work. I could see this being an interesting incentive to buy the Wii U.

May I ask for a source? Because that sounds absolutely ridiculous.

it's nothing concrete, just something i heard speaking to someone who may or may not know about some of the plans for wii-u eshop. i would hope this idea isn't followed through with, but nintendo isn't too consumer friendly with the downloads given the sheer price of VC content. at the same time they're cheap when it comes to the technical side of ports/VC.

HaNks

DudeSean

I'm pretty sure the price of VC content is due to third parties. Before Nintendo came out with the Wii they were even discussing the idea of giving these games away from for free. And if Nintendo made their games cheaper than third parties' games then a lot of people would just buy Nintendo's games and not bother with the third parties games. So I blame the high price of VC games on third parties.

Nintendo certainly doesn't seem to do anything extra when it comes to emulating their old games (Virtual Console). They usually make us lose features that the original games had. Like the Super Game Boy mode and the extra colors from the GameBoy Color in gameboy games. I would think that Nintendo would be able to make a better emulator for their systems than anyone else, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

So...you're pulling this from someone who is not reliable and jumped to this conclusion? You might want to do more research before stating stuff as facts

some type of top-up fee to to let you have an already owned title on another compatible system (like between wii-u/3ds) seems like a very nintendo thing to do at this point. i'm not sure about the third party thing, the prices of all 1st party GB and NES games on the 3ds still seems far too high to me. these are tiny games with minimal emulation requirement, whether nintendo have to pay to recertify them or not. i think their back catalog could be a much larger revenue source if it was being handled better - more/cheaper releases, subscription service, more emu functionality. nintendo just seems a bit behind the times in everything online.
