Topic: Is your patience with Nintendo wearing thin?

My patience with them is starting to wear thin,but very slowly.If people don't even know that the Wii U is a new console,then they have failed at marketing.I am also mad at how they handled Swapnote,as I thought it was very irrational to get rid of the service altogether.Other than marketing and Swapnote,I still love them a lot.But Club Nintendo rewards are getting a bit ridiculous.

SO what would you call the Market of gamers who follow the news and developer, and line up for launch day games.

hardcore gamers is at least...a thing. "core gamers" is a term I've always heard used by or for the worst of hardcore gamers or as a joke. And it just sounds stupid.

Can't say my patience is wearing thin since I'm not expecting Nintendo to be the next Sony and Microsoft.

For past situation, people have a tendency to blame/sue Nintendo for things that are out of their control (Wii U's child labor abuse, Wii fit's BMI chart, etc.), so if the swapnotes response is to protect themselves legally, show good PR, and show parents that their 12 year old innocent kid wouldn't see any x-rated content on their system, so be it. I can wait for a 3ds Miiverse.

Nintendo been making games that everyone can enjoy for years, so I can't expect them to segregate their market because the 10% (my dumb guess) of the people think it's too kiddy and easy. Of course that doesn't mean 3rd party publishers can't do that.

My only problem with Nintendo is that they don't make enough games in their different franchises (Metroid, Starfox, Kid Icarus, etc.).

How awesome would the Wii U launch have been if it came with a brand new Metroid or Starfox game, huh? Maybe a bit better than an upgraded version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii?

Well guys, the fact is today that Nintendo has sold very little and the president himself has admited the failure.
So, what can Nintendo do to get the sales going ?

What will satisfy me ? I want nintendo to communicate better, take more control over the situation and show specifically what they will do to turn this around. Its also important for me that they get more titles rolling, big games that are focused on the majority and not small groups. I would also like to hear that they are focusing on getting some big exclusive online games out that arent MK8,SSB type of games. Maybe something like MH3, i dont know.. just something new and where we all can play together. Its about time they understand that people now days play more (or atleast 50/50) online with friend/strangers than with family offline.
And for last, i would like to see them fill up that VC and get more indie titles.. its like sahara in there..

Wait... so, you think the Mario, Wii Fit, Wii Party, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. games are NOT for the majority? You think they ARE focusing on small groups? What kind of games do you think they should make that would be focused on the majority?

I know their account system and online features are the most complained above all else. Probably more than the games themselves...

Anyway, I think more online options and account systems are in the pipeline. When I see Nintendo releasing VC games on both of their systems, I just kind of figure they're waiting for enough sharing enabled software to pop up, so that Nintendo system owners actually have software to share between the systems.

Things can only get better, and they have. Just probably not in areas people deem the most relevant in long term success. With private Swapnotes being "banned", I'm guessing Nintendo will be trying to make communication between friends online, more public.

If you can't say something in front of everyone, it most likely isn't good in the first place, so I don't think Nintendo did a bad thing, there.

It's true. Mario doesn't hold that status as much anymore. Everyone still will recognize him but it's a different story if they will play any of the games.

I am really patient with this one because while 3D World is making me want to get the Wii U I want to get it next year because by then, the Wii U would have great games to come.

But seriously, I don't get the point of talking about this. This is the same thing that happened to the N64, GCN, GBA, Wii, DS and 3DS. Lack of software in the first year and then it ends up booming. I assure you that if they made about 100 games for the Wii U, it would've done fine. Problem is that its a very different system unlike PS4 and ONE that make devs confusing as to how to make the games for the system. Honestly, I think its best to say that if you want to play Nintendo stuff, YOU GET NINTENDO STUFF.

But my patience is wearing thin on the next Sonic game for Nintendo. Seriously what is the NEXT SONIC GAME???????????

I'd say there should be more than enough games to keep most people entertained for a good while. There definitely is a game "drought", but buying the system now would give you a year worth of software to get into immediately.

Tekken Tag 2, COD Black Ops II, Disney Infinity, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, etc. titles are worth buying on Wii U, even if you have another system to buy them on, IMO. If you like Assassin's Creed 4, then I say go for it, even though I don't really care for it.

Game & Wario, Pikmin 3, and WW HD are up for grabs as soon as you get your system updated. I shouldn't have to mention the upcoming games that are right around the corner, right? There's stuff to play. Nintendo isn't done improving the system on an OS level, either.

This probably comes off as babbling, but there is stuff to play and things are getting better on Wii U. Even though launch games were alot of ports, I still thought the GamePad and the fact that they were still VERY recent games was enough to move on to Wii U from the 7th gen of consoles.

The Wii U has a decent library so far I'm wonderinf Nintendo will be able to stave off droughts next year something that at least the PS4 won't have to worry about next year. That said i'm thinking indies and VC should keep the system covered.

Well, you guys can think that there are more then enough titles on the wii U and the games are good enough and focused on the majority etc.. Keep defending, even when nintendo admits failing.
All i can say is that, Look at the sales numbers, there is the facts. Maybe you guys need to ask yourself "am i part of the minority?"
Answer should be yes.

3ds users certainly can't complain, but the wii u needs the same rhythm when it comes to major first party titles.
my patience is not wearing thin atm, but the line-up for 2014 is not enough so far.
i'm repeating myself, but the wii u needs some huge game announcements in the coming weeks.

No, they make games and I enjoy them. If anything, my patience is wearing out with these useless threads.

What do you mean? There ARE games worth having for the majority. Just because the sales aren't doing so well doesn't mean I'm "lying" or "defending" for something.

Do you have a Wii U? The only minority I realize I'm a part of, is actually being an owner of a Wii U. As far as good games being available for the system, no, I'm not in the minority. There's a difference between those 2 subjects, and you seem to be mashing them together.
