More likely to cause Nintendo to try more unique, new things out of their norm, or to just play it safe with their existing IPs they know will bring in customers?
I see MK8, Smash, & Hyrule Warriors being high sellers. Enough to move systems? Don't know. Most fans of other systems, both casual, & die-hard, probably will look at Nintendo from the stigma of "nothing but sequels< & remakes". Who knows. really? I suspect the possibility of "that one off-beat game", that may, or may not get, or have gotten if it has been already released, good ratings, & that of all games, it got a typical non-gamer interested in gaming overall, & maybe Nintendo in particular. There's less, but still a chance, of the same scenario happening, except it happening to someone who already is a gamer, albeit on another platform(XBone, PS4, PC).
As for financial forecast, investors of companies hire specialized people to anaylize the marker, & make predictions, that influence any given company's actions. In the game industry, sequels are usually determined by the financial success of a game, as well as how it is received, & retold about by the mass media.
Although Nintendo has mainly their game division, & a few merchandise here, & there based on their Mario ips(intellectual properties), Nintendo is still financially well off, to the point of being able to survive a few major financial failures. The same applies to Microsoft, & Sony.
As for future games, & consoles, Nintendo is currently working on a platform that little is know about, that they refer to as Q.O.L.(quality of life).
I don't get why some here are being such jerks to him. Yes, he creates a lot of topics, and quite a few seem to only serve as annoyances. But with that said, labeling everything he does as seeking attention or trolling is rather immature. He created a topic to discuss something that is hard to discuss, but that doesn't mean you guys need to lower the bar.
I can hardly give him a better answer than "who knows", but that doesn't mean nobody's thinking about Nintendo's future position in the market.
I dunno, Nintendo is more in the middle since they're both keeping it safe by having sequels like Zelda U and Yoshi Yarn. While they're also trying to make some unique stuff like Splatoon and Project Guard. As for future sales, that really depends if gamers are willing to give the Wii U a chance.

I don't think you can call Yoshi's Wolly World a sequel, it's more of a spin off.
