Lots of Wii U doom & gloom lately. If not Activision party blaming the Wii U for expected loss of revenue on the latter part of 2013 to DICE claiming that the old Frostbite 2 game engine doesn't run so well on the Wii U. Is the Wii U failing? Anyone thinking of selling it for PS4 later?
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Nah, it wont fail in any extensive way, but as with Wii (and also Gamecube in several ways) it will problably not run-along the more similiar platforms from Microsoft and Sony but still manage and attract some really great games / and gamers. It most likely wont be another Wii in terms of sales. It isnt. But then again, not much has been.
One can always generalize about things, but what is certain is that EA isnt that supportive. And thats because of business and nothing else. In my theory that fuzz is all about that EA is one of the publishers that is going to demand DRM / Always Online on their games for the next Playstation and Microsoft and therefor they will not support Nintendo until they let them do the same.
It's just too much. People now making fun of it for getting into smartphone games. Some people asking why they should buy a Wii U & play smartphone games when they can play those kinds of games on their smartphones. It's like the Wii U was reduced to playing smartphone games.
Did the 3DS fail? I mean nothing worked on it and the Vita was so powerful!! Almost everyone predicted its failure and how the Vita was going to outsell it....oh wait, none of that happened

Aren't Nintendo consoles generally popular secondary consoles. Some people would like a little Mario on the side, and Ninty is the only source for that. It could very well thrive with a price drop.
Just yesterday Avalance Studios also bailed out of Wii U by saying that it's dev kits are collecting dusts & they're not making games on it. First EA, then DICE, then Activision & now Avalance Studios. I wonder who's going to bail out tomorrow.
I'm thinking of trading off &/or selling my Wii U. What's the best place to trade off or sell a used Wii U? I don't think the Wii U is going to sell in the future I might have to sell mine while it's not too late. Lots of game developers are starting to stay away from it.

Well, EA and Dice are the same. Activision is still supporting it? Even though they mentioned Wii U as a reason in the financial call they also mentioned the other next-gen platforms and a bunch of other ingredients. That doesnt mean that they will stop developing games for it. Avalanche is a smaller studio with not much to say before a publisher puts the words and money into their mouth.
Everybody knows that. The thing is, games running on Frostbite engines won't be coming on the Wii U anymore & there's a lot of it (close to 20 games mostly triple A). Activision for sure won't be bringing anymore their triple A games on the Wii U particulary COD Ghosts.
I strongly believed the Wii U will bounce back that's why I invested so much in it. But this days made me change my mind & now thinking of getting rid of it. CNN Money now saying Nintendo is "tone deaf" & "lost touch with reality". There's actually truth on this doom & gloom & it's getting more apparent as days goes by.
We are in a period of transition. Not that many games has been announced for any platform, especially not from third-party.
The studio behind the upcoming Wolfenstein-game recently clarified that "and next-gen platforms" deliberately wasnt more specific due to the fact that they arent sure. All those games that has been announced as "PS360 + next gen platforms" just as well include Wii U. Or only the next Xbox. Or only a PS4-version. Or no version at all. Its basically a placeholder announcement until they see how things turn out.
come on guys everyone should know by now you buy a nintendo console for nintendo exclusive games its the way it has,is,and always will be.
Actually NO. I'm 42 y.o. I have no intention of playing Mario when I bought my Wii U.
What games were you planning on playing then? A cool Call of Duty game or was it another cool dudebro shooter designed for 14 year old boys you had in mind?
I'll just wait and see. It's too early to say anything.
@GoombaSlayer: That was unnecessary and childish. You shouldn't get all offensive just because he won't play Nintendo exclusive games on his console. Everyone shall play games they like.
I think you have to wait and see how this next holiday season goes. If it isn't successful, I think you are looking at gamecube levels. Obviously, that isn't total failure but as a company that is how Nintendo will view it.
No offense bro. I know some of you really like the Wii U. I too been defending the Wii U from detractors but this latest developments makes me think that the Wii U is really failing. It now looks like some of this game developers have some axes to grind on the Wii U. It's like the dominos tumbling on the Wii U & it soon will be over.
I really thought Nintendo is making big plans but its latest move getting into smartphone games makes it the butt of jokes particularly the hardcore gaming crowd. Lots of people are know saying that the Wii U is too softcore. Some of the comments I've read lately were mocking the Wii U because of what Nintendo just did (ex: Why buy a Wii U when you can play your games on smartphones?).
