Bought mine at launch. No bugs, freezes, lock ups, etc. Mine is constantly online as well with maybe 59 hours of playtime since 11/18. COD:BO2 has been rock solid with no problems with over 33 hours of playing.

See my theory of the DUD factor is getting closer to an actual fact people ;)

PS3 = YLOD
XBOX360 = RROD
WiiU = DUDOD

Why are theories crazy? The whole point of forums such as these are to discuss , be that good or bad points. And if some people are having issues with something , putting theories across is one way of discussing things is it not? We who are having problems just want this sorting out. Count your lucky stars if your not having issues :)

Some of the thoughts around what the problem might be were bordering on "I wasn't wearing my lucky socks". Talking about the system freezing is good and I don't have a problem with people posting random theories on why it's happening.... I just pointed out that some of them are a little bit crazy...

Good lord, when I eventually get my Wii U either after Christmas or next year (depending on how things go) I'm I going to have to have all these updates done at once and have it sit for like 5 hours!?

Psst...

...You can actually run the updates in the backround.

Oh that's right. Forgot about that, my bad. :p

The updates should stack so it shouldn't take that long. It'll take about as long a year from now to update a launch Wii U as it did at launch. Later though the Wii U's on the shelves will come with newer and newer firmware and the games will come with more of the patches included. So the longer the console is out the less time it should take to update.

ahh, I had it hang loading Nintendo Land. It just sat on the loading screen looping before the lights shone on the curtains for ages. :(

I had a few problems with my Wii U aswell, mostly on SMBU as the game crashed my console every single time on the cutscene. The system also crashed on Nintendo Land but was at random times, so I thought it wasn't really hardware related. Other than that, I could do everything else normally and play Nintendo Land offline with no problem. I traded SMBU for a new one, and the problem persisted so I just traded the console. The new one hasn't crashed once, not even on Nintendo Land with all the Miis walking about and saying stuff. Don't wait any longer, send it back, I'm pretty sure it's a faulty system.

That's possibly the most helpful post so far.

I mentioned signatures, which makes this a meta-signature,

Hence, this signature is infinitely meta. Does Meta-Knight have a self-awareness of his own name?

Is that the first time @skywake? It will be interesting to see how the next couple of weeks pan out for folks after the update yesterday though?

True ... I remember when I got a launchday GameCube & Wii ... both randomly crashed ... They went straight back 2 the store ... that's what happens when stuff gets made in Taiwan sweatshops ... Quality control goes out the window. /facepalm (Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo are all @ it)

Since the latest update I have noticed that miiverse loads up litterally one second faster. Was going to post to say I havent had a single freeze since the new update but as I was about to quit out of miiverse and power down, miiverse froze solid. Could still press the TV button on the gamepad and use the TV but the console hung completely and the gamepad froze too(unless pressing the TV button).

why do you insist on them being duds? This is just a small software issue. The consoles work just fine.

The proof is in the fact that there are a large amount of WiiU without problems (like mine) and the people that went and got another system don't seem to be having the issue anymore speaks for itself don't you think... My job title is 'Senior Technical Supervisor' for Toshiba Australia (15 years) trust me when I say that this happens on a daily basis in my industry ;) sometimes electronics come straight out of the box faulty especially System and Logic boards which inevitably get referred to as DUD's.

I've said it before, but I'm even more okay with the fact that I have to wait for my Wii U, seeing as how many of you are having problems that will likely be resolved by the time I acquire one. Well, that's my hope anyway.
