I've been wanting to get this game when it was announced it was coming to the Wii U, it'll be my first canon MH game, but after I read they will have closed MH3's online mode after april, I'm feeling ambivalent if I should get the game and pay a full retail price for it, or I should save my money.

It's one of those games you have to constantly grind your character, so it's very time consuming (and I like that!). I'm quite undecissive, as that game really looked like a beast with 21 horns! It'd be a shame if I didn't have it, but as well, for my wallet it'd be a pain if I had to spend so much (more than 160$ here for retail games, thanks to the inflation of all prices) for a game that's gonna be take down in 6 years or so, after the Wii U goes to a better life.

What do you say guys? Is this a good investment? Or I may have to hold onto the money for something else?

Monster Hunter Tri's servers on the Wii are shutting down in April not Wii U's MH3 Ultimate.

Did you guys even read the OP? He was asking if it's worth investing in Ultimate if the servers for that game will be inevitable shut down as well.

They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Just reading it like that makes me assume your talking about the ultimate version in the confusion of the wording if this isnt the case

You may call me a coward, but at the end of the day who's still living, hm?

Sometimes I wonder if people bother doing any research before commenting.

I'm sorry for not putting that out, but I abbreviate Ultimate as MH3U.

Thanks. I might just get it, Wind Waker and Pikmin 3 will come up later, so something that boosts my play time is a great plus for the console.

And yeah, if you live in Venezuela, you're all the time going to see these kind of skyrocketed prices everywhere you go. Let's say we have a pretty unefficient government.

Calm down. Poor wording can be very misleading and vague.

TC, if you think you're going to enjoy Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, the inevitability of the servers shutting down years from now shouldn't persuade you from purchasing it.

Could you get it for the regular price on the eShop?

This is a signature.
I mentioned signatures, which makes this a meta-signature,
A meta-signature mentioning meta-signatures is a meta-meta-signature.
Hence, this signature is infinitely meta. Does Meta-Knight have a self-awareness of his own name?

Nope, because our currency is not the dollar. We have either way order it abroad (which results in a terrible pain in the neck) or have to buy it physically.

I say go for it. Even if they shutdown the servers in six years I am sure you will get your moneys worth out of it by than. It is inevitable that an online game's servers will shut down its only natural. But than its how long they stay open that you have to worry about but honestly with as popular as the MH series is I dont see them shutting it down early. I mean just look at Halo 2 for example. That game continued to stay online long into the 360's lifespan. If you are really worried about the servers shutting down than maybe online gaming isnt for you and you should stick with offline.
