OK, to start things off, I'm a console banned Wii U owner (which means I'm banned from Miiverse forever). In the event that I decide to get Mario Maker, are there any limitations on the level sharing feature? Can I play and download levels, even if my Miiverse account is locked? Can I share levels without a Miiverse account (I've seen people "sharing level codes" outside of Miiverse)? If I can't then I know I'll not be getting Mario Maker.

Miiverse isn't necessary to share levels. So I imagine it should work. I have no way of actually checking though. Level codes show up inside the game. It's just they automatically get posted to Miiverse as well.
Getting banned from Miiverse forever seems a bit of an extreme act by Nintendo. But anyway, I'm thinking along the same lines as @OneBagTravel , but am not entirely sure.

@TheTeaStirrer, I was under the impression that a Miiverse mod could reinstate you if you were banned. You just have to contact them which I forget how.
Edit: Ah, it looks like you have to have some serious problems if you're actually console banned lol. Maybe the permanent ban is a good thing if someone can't learn to play nicely.
I don't know, I once got a lot of posts deleted by simplifying "Japanese" as "JAP". Apparently it's a racial slur.

So I'm assuming that you can use the codes to share levels on other websites, and still download the levels within the game without using a Miiverse account, right? I think the only limitation is that I can't share levels within the game, I have to share them on other websites via the code.

honestly, if you are 'that' clean, you should work for having your ban removed. You can say you weren't aware it is a ratial insult - I wasn't aware of that either before actually googling it 30 seconds ago.
I've seen people getting away with Jimmy Savile jokes, so you shouldn't have been banned for such a silly thing.

Ah, okay. It's nice that Nintendo give you the chance to request for your account to be unbanned or looked over again.
To be honest, I don't understand why people would post silly things on social networks such as Miiverse if it is going to get you banned, and even if it isn't! It's good that Nintendo actually give out permanent bans or console bans, to get people to stop what they're doing.

It's possibly because of your username, too. Correct me if I am wrong, but I would guess 'jeremys-home' is Jeremy Saville's home. You wouldn't get a console or perma-ban for doing one or two things wrong on Miiverse.

I have no idea who Jeremy Saville is, Jeremys-home is literally something I just came up with on the spot. Plus I have 4 other accounts and they're all perma banned.

Hey, I got a "caution" on a forum the other day for replying to a thread in which someone ELSE had used an "unacceptable word". Apparently they have a policy about not contributing to bad discussions. Some people just struggle with authority.
I once got a bunch of really unpleasant messages from a single person in several of my posts, I don't think they even warned the guy. I had to delete them and block him myself.
Anyway, if you got banned several times in different accounts... Maybe you're doing something really wrong. Intentional or not.
I don't know, I once got a lot of posts deleted by simplifying "Japanese" as "JAP". Apparently it's a racial slur.
"Jap" and "Nip" (from Nippon or Japan in Japanese) was a racial term used during World War II, being of Japanese descent I do take offence to the term. However it isn't well known it seems since there are quite a few people who don't know the term (including some people I know) so I understand that it isn't intentional when someone writes it, usually when shortening "Japanese".
Since you didn't know it was a racial slur, was that the only thing you were reported for or were there some other times where you had other violations? It seems that something like that shouldn't result in a console ban from miiverse and I'm sure that if you did contact Nintendo, you may be able to have your ban lifted.
That being said, I think the only thing you wouldn't be able to do would be posting comments to levels. If you wanted to delete one you made, it wouldn't do anything if you just deleted the miiverse post and you actually have to delete the level from the servers.

So..................I can't share levels on Mario Maker if banned? If so, I'm gonna preorder Triforce heros instead.

I'm gonna be honest, I have done things that should have been deleted, but from what I remember most of my posts were deleted for really stupid reasons. I remember a lot of them were deleted for advocating against the ways of some Miiverse users, another one was deleted because I posted a picture of Link, and some others were deleted because of stupid mistakes on my part. I still don't remember doing enough to get 5 accounts banned 4 times each...

@NightmareEater: I think you can share levels, just not on Miiverse. Not sure on this but I think you can get a code for your level or something.
