The story is kinda long if you pace yourself. But if you're a completionist like me, trying to find every single hidden vehicle/costume/etc, you'll spend about 50+ hours on it. (Maybe even more)
I would definitely recommend this game, it's pretty funny, unique, long, and it gives me nostalgic feelings of collect-a-thon games back in the Nintendo64 era like Banjo-Kazzoie & Donkey Kong 64.
Just beating the main story wouldn't take too long, but this game has a TON of collectible things. I'm at 98.4% at around 50 hours I think. It's a great game either way, and one that can suck you in for hours at a time.
I'm interested in getting this game, and I am a completionist, so I am curious: Are there any missables? I dislike games where I can't get everything because I did not get some obscure item from somewhere.
No, you can get every collectible even after the endgame. The game is also kinda long, unless you just plow through the main story. It's really fun, I highly recommend it
Revenge is better with chili sauce... everything is better with chili sauce.

It took me a little over 25 hours to finish the main story as I didn't rush it and ended up with 33.5% completed. Massively fun and funny game that took me by surprise. I had never played a LEGO game before and wasn't that interested in it to be honest but turned out to be one of the best gaming experiences for the Wii U so far.
