Before, when I had game cube, I had Japanese ver. of console and I tried to play an English ver. game with it but it didnt work. Do you think this will happen to Wii U?

There is region locking, which means Japan games don't work on US or Europe consoles...

Let me know if you add me.

There are games for Wii U, you know.
3DS XL is better than 3DS, IMO.
I'm all hooked up and ready to go.

No. And vice versa. (Yes, believe it or not, Japanese can't play our indie games!)

I'd still prefer a Japanese 3DS/WiiU over the US one, I hope they at least get Ikachan and 1001 spikes though

Reigion locks suck. Why do they continue to exist to begin wih when occasionally you'll see DLC ports up for DL anyway? I've seen a few on WII VC, not sure on 3DS, and a few on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

Region lock is good. They are subliminally encouraging you to move to Japan to play all the games that you want. Go Iwata-san, go!

@DaveGX - I think it may be to prevent people from getting a game from Japan before it gets localized outside of Japan, so people can critique it early and perhaps put off potential buyers. I don't know how often that actually happens, though.

That's one of the reasons... I also think it's to prevent some people from places like AU (Who have to pay $80 for a 3ds game!) from importing it from NA for $40 cheaper, something along those lines.
