Compared to the PS3 version I had visually it was identical. The Wii U version did suffer some fps spikes pretty frequently but was not all that off putting. I never tried the online mode on Wii U. So yer its fine and can be hard cheap now.
I bought AC3 day one on Xbox 360 (Prior to Wii U's launch) but I heard AC3 was amazing on WiiU. Can't wait to play AC4 here, although it will probably be a later purchase (before end of the year though)

Yeah, this. Other than Off-TV play, it's identical to other consoles. If you already have and played the game on PS360, then I would hesitate to buy the Wii U version (unless Off-TV is a selling point for you, as it is for a lot of people). If you're yet to play it though, it's a solid purchase. You get quite a few hours out of AC3 and there's much more to explore than previous games in the series.
Combat is still rather repetitive, but Ubi improves that with each new game in the series.
