I know Monolith is owned by Nintendo, but I'm just saying that if a game the size and scale of Xenoblade can fit on Wii U, then why can't games like Arkham Knight and Assassin's Creed? I know the install base of the Wii U is poor, but is it really that hard to make a game for this system?
As much as i think Xenoblade looks amazing, its a far cry from what PS4/XB1 are able to do.
Arkham Knight could run on Wii U by making certain sacrifices, the real reason why most games don't come to the Wii U is that it isn't worth the amount of work the Wii U version would take. Downgrades, optimizations, possible GamePad usage, and testing would probably cost more to do than they would make on the Wii U. It is part of the reason why the Wii saw spin-off games more often than downgraded games, at least those spin-off games could be profitable.
I always find the "power argument" to not hold much weight as there are many none required elements to many games that could be taken out, doing so might make the game slightly worst, less enemies in places, simpler boss patterns, maybe a certain section of the map removed, but it isn't impossible. Sales is the real issue. I don't think a Wii U version would sell well enough to make a developer/publisher want to make those cuts. While more power would mean less needed cuts, it is possible to put the game on less powerful hardware (most of the time)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Basically, it could always work if it was made into a different game, sometimes possibly removing the main point of the game in the process, or everything but the main feature.

Kinda over exaggerated, but true. They could simplify textures and details and deliver a bare-bones experience on lower powered machines while still providing the same core experience, but is it worth the money? I think a spin-off could have been awesome for Wii U and possibly some last-gen machines. Like that Blackgate spin-off Origins had.

If the other batman games sold well on the wiiu, this game would be on the wiiu. Unfortunately those games didnt sell well at all, so theyre not going to waste their time any more. That goes for pretty much every other 3rd party game.
It would take a lot of work and sacrifice but since it's made on Unreal Engine 3 it is technically possible, but like what everyone else is saying it wouldn't look pretty or at least look very different. Also wouldn't be popular enough thus porting costs would result in a loss which WB and Rocksteady don't want. It's simple economics really.

It's not really simple economics when you don't know how much the porting costs are or how many copies need to be sold to make it back, I could see the game making profit since the last few Wii U Bat-games sold around a quarter of million copies each but it's probably the case the profit margin is too thin compared to earning interest from just having dolla-dolla sitting in a bank account over costs from a project that will be extremely difficult.
Economics/business/capitalism isn't about making a profit, it's about making lots of profit.
Do you think a asking or fan outcry would swerve their choice of not giving us the game?
I'm sure they're aware that Wii U owners would love to have this game on their system and WB Games probably feels that sentiment to a non-business-like extent. However, the only thing that would justify a port to them would be the growing success of the console and seeing that people are buying a healthy number of third party action games or third party games in general for the system.
