Topic: Invent YOUR Wii U games

Sorry if the title sounded a bit too tempting, what I meant is, what kind of games would you make if you could, for the Wii U? Only requirement for this "mind-experiment" is that it should be something unique for the Wii U, something I fear many developers, maybe even Nintendo themselves will fail doing (I just got a bad gut feeling about it).

For example:

A Game where 3 people on classic pro controller play a game that looks and feels like LA noire, while the other guy with the touchscreen gamepad is playing a murderer, trying to get away with his kills while the other 3 investigate and try to chase him.

A sci-fi rpg game for 2 players, with spaceships, one guy plays on TV shooting at enemy spaceships and doing the steering while another guy is on gamepad doing basicly "scotty's job" redirecting energy to shields, freeing up power for quick escape or charging a special weapon for the gunner-player to use.

The most simple thing ever.... Advance Wars HD with 2 players either battling each other (one on TV one on gamepad) or even playing together coop through the campaign. Sure since its turnbased you wouldn't even need that second screen, but if you have it why not use it?

X-COM for Wii U, two players play together, one is out in the field commanding his troops against aliens while the other guy on the gamepad does the base building and research, can issue reinforcements for the field player or launch special air-strikes to the field.

A New Monster Hunter where 2 players can play coop, with normal controller pro, the gamepad lies between them and everytime they shop all items appear on the gamepad and with a swiping motion towards the respective players, they buy it or by doing some touch-work on the controller together they can unleash a big combo.

Would a guitar hero like game with several other instruments work on the touchpad? I think so!

Thats just off the top of my head, Im curious to hear YOUR ideas,
if there is already a thread like this, Im sorry as I couldn't find it despite looking!

Nice idea @Scollurio !

For me, I would make a typical RPG game, but instead of upgrading weapons or magical skills, like most of the RPG games, the heros are actually martial artists where they get to improve their martial artist skills through out the game. There are special skills, super skills and also devastating skills for each charachters that you need to learn. (now it sounds like a mix between street fighters and legend of legaia).

The fact that no modern weapons are used could be due to the fact that the story took place long long time ago. Or maybe a 3rd world war have occured and people are living in difficult time (like fist of the north star time line).

Anyways, you have different kung-fu fighters with different styles, ninjas, Takewondo, Juditsu or any other un-heard-of techniques.

The rest is straight forward. An evil dude with fearsome powers and dark generals who want to control the world with an iron fist and it's up to those heros to stop him and protect the people.

Oh and there are monsters too ^^

I like where this is going, Im just wondering about unique ways of employing the touchscreen gamepad. Because when I was thinking about games, in general, most of them can be awesomely well played with either mouse and keyboard or a gamepad, if you're the speciality kind of guy you might want a joystick and a racing wheel setup too, but I hardly can think of a suitable way to use that touchscreen, thats more than just a gimmick! Hmpf!
