So I bought Call of Duty Black Ops 2 from a garage sale today and when I put it in my Wii U I get a invalid disc message. No other Wii U or even Wii game inserted into my Wii U gives me that message. The disc is in great shape, I couldn't see any scratches, nicks, cracks, fingerprints etc and even cleaned the disc after I got the message the first time. The disc is for NA and so is my Wii U so I have no other ideas unless for some reason it's a burned copy or something. The disc looks legit though.
I tried googling the problem but only found answer if your Wii U does it for every game, but as I stated it's only this game.
So I am wondering anyone have any ideas?

Try comparing it to another disc side by side, try to see the "data" inside the disc.
Does the disc look "different" when compared to other one? Any slight variations?
It's possible to melt/damage the disc to a point where it doesn't look damaged at first but it simply doesn't work anymore if it's placed near a source of heat.
@Meowpheel: No, the disc doesn't look any different then any other Wii U game disc. The only odd difference with the game at all is the case. It's a black case rather then the blue Wii U case. But that might be nothing just means the case was replaced at one time.

@Tasuki: Well I don't know if this is any help, but you can let the disc get polished and maybe it works after that.
A few years ago I bought a used Xbox360 and a new copy of GTA V. But the console is ridiculously sensible to any movement (or rather it's a design error from MS), which I wasn't used to from my Wii. I Had the disc in the Xbox360 and moved it a bit and that damaged the disc. GTA V couldn't be installed.
I went to a second hand CD shop (where they sell games, DVD's and music albums) and gave them my disc to send it to their polishing department. It took almost a week and cost me only 3€, but after that the disc worked fine again.
The tiny scratches weren't really visible, so maybe it's similar with your disc. Just ask a local store if they can get the disc polished (it's not something you can do yourself, they have special devices for that) for you.
@mjharper: That's actually more harmful (here's an even more detailed report), at least for cartridges.
I didn't think it was much possible to polish Wii U discs. I recovered plenty of Wii discs but heard Wii U is supposed to be blu-ray like and be scratch resistant and has such a thin coating that polishing basically never works and that regular dvd/cd polishing will straight destroy the disc. If you have any luck polishing a Wii U disc I would love to know as I want to recover my Rayman Legends game but didn't think it was possible.
Just an update here, I never got the disc to work. I tried cleaning it, took it to a shop where they ran it in the machine and it still didn't work. So I just tossed it. After all its not like I spent a bunch on it.
