Topic: Injustice: Gods Among Us vs. Tekken Tag Tournament Wii U Edition

Hello to All.

I am a bit confused as to what the differences between Injustice and Tekken are. I will only be able to one Wii U game in the coming months (because I'm buying Animal Crossing New Leaf in June, fyi), so I would appreciate knowing what the differences between the two are. They both interest me, so I'll need all the guidance I can get as far as which one to get first, the pros and cons of each, etc.

I think I have explained enough to start the discussion.

Thank you,

Christopher

They are two different types of fighters. That's what the difference is. Injustice will be more casual friendly though, features a good story mode (it will feel like a DC Comics movie), 250 S.T.A.R. Lab Missions and Arcade Mode. Injustice plays kinda like Mortal Kombat and a bit like Street Fighter. There are intractable environments like grabbing cars or blowing up bombs in the background. Personally I don't like the Tekken gameplay that much but I love the characters. I rented Tekken Tag 2 at the Library. Tekken plays like... well Tekken. Both are great games but depends on what you prefer. Tekken features an Arcade Mode, Volleyball and the Mushroom Battle. Tekken is a bit harder to master I think. Content wise, get Injustice. There's way more you can do in single player. Also helps if you like DC. Both games though have infinite replay value in multiplayer and online.

Lets just put it this way, get Injustice: GodsAmong Us!
It looks absolutely amazing, there is actually a thread for Injustice called "Looks like were getting Injustice"You should chekc it out. There is gameplay and other related content.

Tekken is almost something you dedicate to. Having some tricky combos, combat that truly matters based on skill level, and is no simplistic controls game like Street Fighter. However it offers plenty of variety. Especially with another player. Having 1vs1, 1vs2, and 2vs2 battles, and has a nicely done tutorial mode, and combot feature. Which overall makes for a core fighting experience.

If you're very iffy on whether to buy Injustice or not, reviews from multiple sites should roll in soon.

I honestly like Tekken better for it's more realistic fighting style, characters, and interesting stories. There is NO story in Tekken Tag 2 though, so note that if that matters.
As for Injustice, no one besides reviewers have even played the game yet, but it plays alot like Mortal Kombat(PS3, Xbox 360) from what I got from the demo, besides having interactive environments.
I'll be keeping an eye out for it myself, but I'm pretty satisfied with Tekken right now. I may just get it for the super hero roster, story it has, and decent fighting style, but overall, I don't think it plays as well as Tekken.

EDIT: Tekken has an easier button layout I think. Every button is a limb control of your character, while MK and Injustice just map whatever command to whatever button, but it has gotten better in Injustice. You can run, tackle, and move in full 3D in Tekken, but you can't in Injustice. They definitely both have a place for any fighting game fan.

Lol a lot of people have played Injustice already... don't ask how -_-. I highly disagree about the button layout though. There's only 3 buttons here instead of 4. I think the moves are a lot easier to do and remember in Injustice since most are just like down forward button. If you could move in full 3D in Injustice I wouldn't be interested in it. 2D fighting is a lot smoother and faster. Though like I said Tekken is a whole different fighter. If that game was strictly 2D it would change a lot. Tekken isn't friendly for noobs to come in either.

I just like being able to think out my moves or counter moves. It's very important for a fighting game to give enough options in combat.
I agree they are different styles and games, but I went back to Mortal Kombat on PS3, and couldn't stand how limited it was compared to Tekken.
I do think having a not so realistic control scheme is probably for the better in games like MK and Injustice, since they have a weapon and object based combat, though.
Injustice will sell soley on having tons DC super heroes to fight with. I might pick this up, but it's very unlikely.
I think I just like the hand to hand combat more I guess, but Smash Bros. is the exception for items and character specific moves using weapons for me.

I completely forgot about Smash Bros. to be honest. I might get that instead of Injustice, i don't know. Which one should I get (remembering that I won't be getting either for most likely over a year from now)?

I'm worried that:

A) I won't like any of the Wii U games I purchase in the future
B) I'll give up on them close to the end (like I did with ZombiU, dang Arena)

My local library only ever has the same two or three games and they are all 360 or PS3.

Do you like comic book stereotypes or anime stereotypes more? TTT2 will be cheaper than Injustice. TTT2 has no DLC (Besides the prepackaged stuff thats DLC on the 360/PS3 versions) , Injustice does. TTT2 has a MUCH larger roster than Injustice and many unlockable costumes. (TTT2 also has a mode to create your own outfits) Injustice has a campaign, TTT2 has ending animations that vary from random to epilouges from previous entries.

I think they both have a place, but I kinda prefer the hand to hand combat of Tekken more. Injustice and Mortal Kombat use weapons and such, but they are both worth getting.
The only characters in Tekken that can shoot stuff across the screen are Alisa, Jack, and the angel characters, unless you equip a gun or something.
I might get Injustice. There's not really much else to get anyway, besides VC next week which I'll probably get first.

I have both games and I enjoy Injustice more. Why? It's a lot more simple to understand and play.

@Chris
Well I just got it yesterday and it's a blast so i'd say yes. I don't think you'd go wrong either way, but Injustice is pretty swell.

Keep in mind that I won't be able to get it for a few months (think about 3-6), would it still be worth it then?

@CapnPancakes This goes along with the above but I don't wanna go off-topic too much, so...
I'm stuck on what Wii U game I should get, please help me out by reading and replying to my latest post here: https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/wii-u/which_launch_title_s... Thank you.
