@taffy calm down mate there's no need to yell at the MadBloke. I have all the 3rd party games, I bought every single one of them as the more expensive DIGITAL 4 LYFE versions because they run smooth with better framerates and less load times (except NFSMWU) which seems to crash more than the cars do during the game when it actually works. Hell, I even double dipped on ZombiU & Assassins Creed 3 now that they're AU$17.00 in the eShop when I already have them on disc... The main point I'm trying to establish is you all need a nice job that pays the Mad stacks like the Aussie has, only then will 3rd parties think you're all top Blokes ;)

@fertherpoet cause in point for Arkham city with the exclusive armor, or what about Ninja Gaiden 3 with exclusive weapons, increased difficulty, gore (cause we all know it can only be hardcore when there's gore sarcasm) and new character missions.

There's a bit of double standards going on here from what I can see, I was a mulitplat owner (had 360 and Wii but traded them in for Wii U) but the Wii U has some really good third party games which have been ignored, I've pointed out the duds and left out a few more otherwise my last post would have been a thesis but to see people here say that they wont support a game for some trivial reason is beyond me, there will always be exclusive feature/s on the Wii U with the off tv function.

Last thing, it makes me laugh when NL report on something bad about the Wii U be it Patcher or some designer rubbishing it or bad sales then to look in the comment section with people saying "OH NL please stop reporting bad news all the time about Wii U". Then when a feature is missing from a game, as minor as it may be you'll see "Oh lazy developer DERP, I'm not supporting that company DERP!". I do want to emphasize about supporting GOOD games not just anything that comes on the Wii U.

URGH some much for keeping this short :-s TL:DR everyone

EDIT: @MadAussieBloke you're an Aussie so I've got no beef with you, although you guys should have beaten England over the weekend, just pointing to some of the drongo's over here who need to rack off. Sometimes i just read the comments section and just think... Fair Dinkem?

Yes, just because you gave a few examples of third parties that were rude and/or lazy, that automatically gives you the grounds to stereotype all third parties. Don't get me wrong, your opinion is your own and no one can take that from you, but it's comparable to a blind mole stating it hates the light.

It's third parties fault their games aren't doing well on Wii U. Most of them are lazy ports of year old games, others are a port of a game with some features missing and possibly no DLC release and some are just plain rushed. Third Parties never truly gave Wii U a chance and then claimed it was our fault when their half-assed efforts didn't do well with our console. This is part of the reason why I could care less for third parties and think their importance is really minimal. They act as if the Big 3 gaming companies are the ones who should bend to there every whim when really, it should be the other way around. They're arrogant and need to be taken down a notch.

I am not sure you are actually playing any of these 3rd party games... Seriously. AC IV - Awesome on Wii U, really, if you aren't buying this on the system you like, Wii U, because of no DLC, GO AWAY, stop playing video games. Why deprive yourself?

Deus Ex - awesome on Wii U, really worth $50 if have never played it,
Both Batman Games - Great on Wii U, especially Origins compared to other platforms,

NFS Most Wanted - Awesome on Wii U, Mass Effect 3 - while not timed right, should have been trilogy, was very well done,
Monster Hunter 3 U,
Rayman for the love of PETE!
the Lego games, Marvel and Undercover...

Seriously. There are a couple more games too. I do not understand some people. That is easily a year to a year and a half of good to great gaming. Quit your whining.

All of those game were worth every penny I paid for them. I don't know what you guys are thinking. You want 3rd party support, buy the games. People need to stop thinking about perceived slights by big companies or what they think they are missing out on, and just buy the games for the systems you want to play them on, and ENJOY THE GAMES....

Thing is, I have purchased third party titles. I bought Rayman Legends (the only good one so far because it was originally MADE for the Wii U) Need For Speed Most Wanted U, AC4, Lego City Undercover (mediocre game) and MH3U. And while not bad, these third parties could've and should've done a lot more for the Wii U. Rayman Legends should've stayed exclusive and only been delayed once, Need For Speed should've had more added to it other than a lame co-driver mode, Mass Effect should've been a TRILOGY rather than just the last one (I mean really?), and same with Assassins Creed 4. Some third party games have been good, (Lego City and MH3) and some are even quite top notch (Rayman Legends) but other than these games, I've been disappointed with the lack of effort these third parties have been giving. They're just not doing enough. The only one that's actually trying is Sega. Even Ubisoft is becoming lackluster as of late.

It just comes off as lazy. The fact that most of these companies won't experiment with the system, utilize the Wii U gamepad to its full potential. or develop Wii U driven exclusives is just sad.

This. It baffles me how people think that a video game company is worse than those that ruined the US economy. If EA is America's worst company, then this country is doing better than we thought.

Really not that to far fetched to understand.
1)Based off of pure votes
2)Said companies are "removed" from your personal day to day dealings
3)Those other terrible companies are typically in industries that there is a certain level of expected bad

I'd like to throw Atlus and Platinum games as good 3rd party examples. Both have made some really solid and unique games in recent years and have even supported Nintendo systems. Capcom's taken some lumps lately, but they still can make solid games (e.g. Monster Hunter). Grasshopper and Vanillaware are other good 3rd parties IMO, though not big on Nintendo lately.

In my opinion there's just a big transition going on from when Japanese publishers/developers were king, like in the SNES/PS1/PS2 days (Capcom, Sega, Konami, Square, etc) to now where most of the big name games seem to come from the west. Nintendo systems have basically never had big western support which was mitigated by Rare to some degree during the N64 era, but their absence has really shown the last 2-3 generations. I agree with Inafune (and CountWavula) that most of the big Japanese publishers/developers have generally lost their way and that's hurt Nintendo the most.

I'm sticking to my guns with the thought that s*** could be better, but it's not. The Wii U should technically be like 2× more capable, graphically and on OS terms in comparison to the Xbox 360.

I really want to think these occurrences aren't on purpose, but it's getting harder and harder to think otherwise.

Am i the only one who doesn't give a Koopaling crap about this? The Wii U visuals are good enough for me, it's the innovative gameplay features of the Wii U gamepad that interest me the most, and then finally being able to experience Nintendo games in HD+360Plus graphics. Most of NIntendo's characters will never go beyond the look of a modern day pixar film, so in terms of just nintendo games i don't really see the need to have all of that extra horse power this instant, the leap would be unatural since the Wii skipped the typical next-gen visual leap and that just wouldn't be nintndo-like. Mario 'visually' is going to reach a mute point pretty quick, possibly 'next gen' i bet it won't get any better than his CG appearance in the Super Smash Bros U trailer and i'm absolutely fine with that.

Heck, look at Kirby, Kirby's already reached his end haha. ;)

I completely agree, but there would no doubt be alot more Wii U owners if they knew it was an Xbox 360 ×2 and it proved so while costing $50 more than that new Xbox 360 model.

7th gen still has good graphics and I know the GamePad and Wii remote are main draws, but I feel like no ones really making the games any better on Wii U for what they could be, so it gives the illusion that the the Wii U CAN'T do any better when it actually can.

I'm stuck in the middle here. I know graphics aren't the end all, but that doesn't mean they should just ignore them.

I'm only going Wii U for a while, so I'll be buying any 3rd party game on Wii U that interests me.

I've already bought Tekken, ZombiU, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, CoD: Black Ops II and Ghosts, Injustice, and a few indie games.

I have more 3rd party games than 1st party. I have Nintendo Land(bundled version), NSMB.U w/ Luigi DLC, WW HD, Wii Fit U, and Lego City. I think the only second party or Nintendo published games I don't have are Ninja Gaiden and W101.

I enjoy the ports, but I think Wii U is getting the short end of the stick since Xbox 360 and PS3 are still relevant platforms. It's easier to port from 7th gen systems than it is 8th gen systems, because you don't have to change much of anything to get the game running.

EDIT: 3rd parties look to be budgeting what they give the Wii U thus far, but they won't be able to do that once Xbox One and PS4 are finally their main focus.

People tend to forget a gaming company is still a company. They blame them for ruining the Wii U where it was never their job to maintain it. Their job is to make money, not us happy, it just so happens they often are the same thing. Once it's profitable, they'll produce games. According to VGChartz the Wii U version sold 0.06 million, whereas the Xbox 360 version sold 0.75 million. Can you really blame them for not releasing GotY on Wii U? Nope, not really.

Exactly, Wii U gamers need to support these titles more if they want more. I bought Batman Arkham Origins over Pikmin 3 for this reason. I will get Pikmin 3 later but if there is a 3rd Party game I am interested I try to buy that. Also 3rd Parties are looking at quicker sales than 1st Party. Nintendo generally releases games they expect to sell throughout the lifetime of the console where 3rd Parties generally only look at sales numbers of the first week. So I recommend to everyone if there is a 3rd Party game you are interested in, buy that before the 1st party game you want

As far as company arrogance goes its no different than the aggressive advertising from back in the day many of us so fondly remember, slogans like "get N, or get out" or "Will you save the girl, or play like one?" that many people wish would make a return. Not so fun when the shoe is on the other foot now is it?;)

Problem with most 3rd parties is they are pretty much in an absurd catch-22 because they either give us gimped ports at full price (SC: Blacklist), late ports (NFS:MWU), giving them less exposure (COD: Ghosts) or even screwing customers over (ME3/Trilogy fiasco). I bet they're still scratching their heads at why they didn't do well.
