I haven't even finished the 3DS version because the controls are butts, so I'd take a remaster of that with dual analog controls, to be honest.

Or patch the 3DS version for better CPP/N3DS support.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Am I the only one who wants to see a side game focusing on Magnus's backstory?

It could be called "Man Achilles"... Or "Guy Hercules".

... I really should go to sleep.

I wanna see Dark Pit get his own game on Wii U.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I second that, but let us use both Magnus and Gaol.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Impossible for this game. I'd rather have Wii mote support. It's faster and more precise than dual analog will ever be.

Neither dual analog nor wiimote controls would work since the game is very flick-and-stop based, but they both should be offered, and CPP support should've been offered from the start.

In a sequel, I'd like a very heavy focus on Magnus and Gaol and a near equal amount of exploration on Dark Pit. Maybe mix third person gameplay with short side scrolling sections.

The most important thing to me would be to increase the amount of multiplayer maps by at least 2x or something and add more modes. Co-op campaign would be nice too.

Considering the conversation with Dark Pit in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U when he revealed his new alliance with Viridi, I think it would be Pit and Palutena vs. Dark Pit and Viridi. Viridi was still mad at the humans at the ending of Kid Icarus Uprising, so now that Dark Pit is her right-hand man Pit might have to stop them from causing more human suffering.

I've noticed that the new Smash seems to cast Dark Pit as a bad guy when he's really not that bad, even when he's lumped with Nintendo villains in one of the last event matches in co-op mode.

I would like to see characters from Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters such as Orcos the demon as a returning villain and others like the Minotaur, even though Nintendo barely acknowledges the game's existence because it never released in Japan until the 3DS VC. I also think they should bring back Zeus, the Shopkeeper, and the Nurse.

Agreed!!!

I think Kid Icarus should remain as wacky as before, and instead of simply building up on what Uprising did, introduce forgotten and new elements. Funny enough, I've written a (way too in-depth for a just-for-fun thing) concept of a potential Kid Icarus sequel. Quick rundown, nothing too revealing (gotta protect some ideas):

  • Emphasis on Land Battles (at first), with several characters playable (up to and including former enemy commanders) in a Monster Hunter-reminiscient team battle style with tougher enemies right off the bat to turn focus on teamplay. Switching characters only in certain situations (like right after a Tag move or something).
  • Characters "level up", but not traditionally. By absorbing the souls enemies consist of, certain attributes and skills can be increased to eventually turn into a new move (extra combo attack, powering up shot types) or ability (healing, Autoreticle, the "Powers" from Uprising, to a point). Every enemy consists of a different mix of souls, which can only be used on specific things. Defeating a boss grants a special item that unlocks/activates new abilities.
  • More exploration, meaning a bit more roaming on the maps should be allowed. At certain points, the current team can be reorganized to accomodate different situations (enemies with strong defense need elemental attacks, quick enemies need quick attackers, etc.).
  • A story focusing more on establishing characters like Magnus, Gaol, Phosphora, and the like, as actual characters, not throwaway figures (the Magnus & Gaol substory was never explained in the slightest, for example).

Everything else, I'll keep to myself. I generally don't care that much about what they do, as long as I get to play Amazon Pandora!

Oh yeah, one thing I definitely think should change is the linearity of the game. I'd like to see a lot more open endedness, perhaps even doing away with the level based system and relying on worlds.

At this point, I'll take just about anything; I just want another one! Kid Icarus: Uprising is hands-down the most fresh and original thing Nintendo has put out in the last few generations. In one game, they effectively created a brand new type of game that filled a spot in their portfolio I didn't even realize was empty. They built a world just about from scratch, and the unique mixture of third person shooting and 3D Super Smash Bros.-like gameplay was honestly unlike anything else I've experienced.
Yeah, there may be some that don't like the control scheme, but the reality is, that's the only way the game can be played. If dual stick controls were used, the sensitivity would have to be set absurdly high because this game functions on twitch, blink and you miss it-type gameplay. I'll grant you it could work if they slowed down gameplay considerably in the sequel, but the game as it is right now would not work with dual stick. Really though, I just want to see more out of these characters as I think there's incredible depth here for expansion.

It's needs to either be entirely silly or mostly serious. The whole "Hey, Hades, how's it going bud? Now I have to kill you" mentality really annoyed me. I'm sure they could make it serious+silly, but they'd have to do a lot more work than that IMO.

I agree with Kaze that they should actually develop side characters (yes, I like Medusa)

And last, make Sakurai (or whatever dev would make it) play Sin and Punishment 2. I think that alone would inspire him to fix the gross control issues with the first game. The only reason I disliked the ground segments was because of the controls. In Sin and Punishment 2 the transition was insanely smooth.

TBH, a KI sequel is very likely (they even hinted at it in Smash Bros. with Pit's info taunt on Dark Pit), but we'll see if it's on Wii U, or they just throw it on 3DS for continuity.

I'd like them to see more boss dungeons in the vein of the original kid icarus, so I'm going to say it should be about the titans awakening and Pit investigating.

Or just strife between men and the gods, with pit stuck in the middle.

How do you active Pit's and Palutena's conversation in Smash Bros U? I can't manage to activate any of their conversations
