This is illogical. Why would you not want a game on a system? If you don't want it, then just don't buy it. Simple as that. I'm glad Watchdogs is coming to Wii U; if I go w/ Wii U next gen I can still get some good 3rd party games on it. I don't want to see less 3rd party support. That's foolish.

Fanboy logic. Don't bother trying to reason with it.

I assumed it was sarcasm but that makes sense too.

I'm all for more 3rd party support. More is better. In no way is having less games better than more.

Having said that, the appeal of Nintendo consoles is in Nintendo's games, while the appeal of Sony and MS consoles are in 3rd party games. If a person likes Nintendo's games, and they also like 3rd party games (such as myself), I'd probably recommend joining the multi-console club. I do like it when Wii U gets a port of a game- I ALWAYS go with the Wii U version over the PS version if given the choice. But I know I can't count on the Wii U for all my 3rd party desires, just like I can't count on my Playstation for my Nintendo desires. One is not less than the other- it's an equal balance.

Nothing beats a good ol' first party Nintendo masterpiece, which is why I feel Wii U is a necessity, not a luxury, if you're a gamer. But at the same time, nothing beats a good ol' AAA game, which is why I also feel a PS3/PS4 or 360/X1 is a necessity. If you want the best of both worlds, ya gotta own 2 consoles. It'd be nice if Wii U got all the 3rd party games the other consoles do, but as it stands, it doesn't. So if a person likes Nintendo games, I say buy Wii U. If they like 3rd party games, buy PS4/X1. And if they like both, buy both. Heck, go for broke and buy all three, and let's not neglect the amazing 3DS library and yes, even the Vita has some good games too. Buy em all, never get left out!

In my opinion, Wii U is worth buying for the Nintendo games alone, just like PS4 is worth buying for the 3rd party games alone. Doesn't mean I don't want more 3rd party games on Wii U, cause I say the more the merrier. But once this gen is over I guarantee I'll have just as many top notch Wii U games on my shelf as top notch PS4 games. So in the end, it's giving me just as many enjoyable games, 3rd party support or not. I never understood why someone would not buy a Wii U simply because it doesn't have the same 3rd party support as the other consoles (unless that's the only type of games that person likes). That's like not buying a PS4 because it won't have Nintendo games. Every console will have amazing games of its own, and it will have games it doesn't get. I buy consoles for what they do have, and what they ARE getting. I pay no mind to what it's not getting. If I like what I see, and I see a few games I DO want to play, then I buy the console. People could list a huge chunk of games on PS that won't ever come to Wii U. But, you could also list a huge chunk of games on Wii U that will never come to PS. Again, two halves to the whole. A diverse gamer won't want to miss out on a single amazing Wii U game, neither will they want to miss out on a single amazing PS4/X1 game.

Unless you know, they don't care much for the games on PS4 and Xbox One. After not being interested in PS3 and 360 titles this past gen I am unlikely to dive in more than a Wii U/3DS/laptop setup. I am getting my fighting games on my computer now, so the main draw for the competing systems is pretty gone now.

Now saying that from a business standpoint Nintendo needs more 3rd party support. From a personal view, as long they get a small number of good 3rd party and indie titles on the Wii U I'm good.

I don't follow the logic of buying Nintendo consoles solely to play Nintendo developed games. Two of the main reasons I bought my Wii U were for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and X (second party). I own Zombi U, and also have LEGO Marvel Heroes coming in the mail any day now. The more variety in games available, the merrier. Speaking of which, I really hope Atlus starts churning out some Wii U magic eventually. Their games certainly make up a significant chunk of my 3DS collection right now.

I'm very interested in seeing how Watch Dogs turns out on the Wii U. It's likely that I'll buy it at launch to show support.

If a third party game comes out that is not on Wii U, I just get the PC version. I'm not saying I don't want N to have healthy 3rd party support, but it never has affected me that much because of this.

I just recently got a Wii U. I bought it mainly for the first party games, not because i don't love third party games. In fact my favorite games are Kingdom Hearts and Bioshock which are third party or relatively third party. I use my PS4/PS3 for third party games.
Its important to not underestimate how important third party support, Nintendo can only do so much. They put alot of work into their games and cannot develop a year schedule all by themselves, third party games fill in the spots between first party games like say Mario Kart to Smash 4.

Also JaxonH. Sony also has great first party games, they are not solely third party. I for one am excited for Infamous second son in the same measure as Smash 4.

I love having options, but most third party games do not measure up to Nintendo releases. At the $60 price point, I cannot go crazy with game purchasing so I tend to go with the games I know have replay life (Nintendo titles mainly). What disappoints me right now is the lack of indie titles and virtual console releases. There should be a arcade type game coming out weekly/bi-weekly that is not virtual console by now and that is not happening.

Most of the games I enjoyed on wii where 3rd party, like little kings story, klonoa, de blob and so on; they had some great 3rd party titles maybe not so many big name FPS but they had more than enough of the kind of games I liked so the wii despite its reputation was actually a great console for 3rd party fans, problem with wii u is its probably not going to attract much of those kinds of games that made up the wii's 3rd party gems, so it really does look like a 1st party only console which is great news for some I guess, but to me that is a huge Zelda and Wario fan but not too fussed either way with the rest of nintendo's IP; the wii u isn't all that enticing.

Regardless of the consoles I own (Wii U and Xbox One), I buy multiplats on PC when I can. Generally a more mature community when it comes to online aspects, infinitely more customization of graphics and such, and Steam sometimes offers little items or their trading cards attached to games that can sometimes be sold on their market for more money to buy more games! I remember getting a rare pet drop from DotA2 a few months ago that sold for 100 bucks on the market within minutes! Pretty awesome for just playing a game you like.

I can say that most of the software I bought for my Wii was third party, but most of the software I kept was published by Nintendo. I have a number of third party games on my Wii U, but I expect most of the "must have" content will come from Nintendo and independent developers as well as medium-sized Japanese studios.
