They need them badly. The Wii U is lacking third party support. Which leads to these long droughts in between games. Gaining new studios would help curb this. I heard on the PS4 board that sony has 40+ developers. Don't know if that's third party, or first party subsidiaries. But if sony can get this many, so could nintendo.

Compcept would be a start, i'm sure Keiji Inafune would love to get involved in some work with Miyamoto!
And while they're at it, buy Mega Man & Ghosts 'n Goblins from capcom seeing as how they don't give a damn about either franchise these days.

would be cool to see them "buy" a company like Capcom or some franchises (Meg Man.. please?!)
the things that could happen if Nintendo had the rights to the Mega Man franchise... wow

can anyone tell me why capcom won't release new mega man games? it's obviously their most popular franchise, but they just don't seem to care.. and it frustrates me to no end
that being said... if they were to buy capcom.. i hope they wouldn't get the rights to Resident Evil and Street Fighter
they have no clue about horror games and i doubt anyone here would like a Resident Evil game from nintendo..

and Street Fighter? hell no
nintendo doesn't care about eSports/the competitive-scene and therefore won't invest their time and resources into properly balancing their games

but.. capcom doesn't really have a clue either. just look at what they've done with Resident Evil.. and they keep milking Street Fighter 4 (new DLC, 100 different versions of the game etc.) instead of just giving us SF 5

Sony has one of the biggest collection of first party's studio's in the industry, I thought people already knew this. The problem Nintendo is facing is HD game development, I myself don't see how Nintendo didn't see this coming especially as stuff like this has already been documented from 2005 onwards.

When they talked about mergers and acquisitions, I didn't get the impression they meant buying game studios. It will probably be companies that have more experience in the QoL field.

i fear the day when they'll reveal what their whole QoL-strategy is..
won't that automatically mean.. less time and resources will go into their video game business?

i just assume the focus will be split.. it just won't be all about video games anymore.. which would be a real shame

Game developers cannot be expected to work on something that doesn't suit their learning and experience. They'd have to buy up companies and hire more people who are experienced with QoL. Unless they plan on firing devs to make this happen, I really doubt any less time or resources will be going towards gaming.

They need to snap up more western devs, in my opinion. Either buy them or make some deals.

Sony is like EA as soon as they buy them then they never do much worthwhile ever again.

Psygnosis were absolutely world class across loads of genres once Sony took over all they did was Wipeout sequels.

Capcom has always milked everything that is why they released 6 Megaman games in about 10 mins. (Of which 3 are good). Loads of Megaman X entries that are not all that good.

What they do with Streetfighter is what a fighting game needs. (Small inprovements and rebalancing.)

It is annoying that Gokumakaimura Kai (極魔界村 改), isn't available other than on UMD though as that is made to be winnable on the Ultimate mode. (Which is just the normal mode of Ghosts n Goblins up to then).

@unrandomsam If you ask me they have always milked the Street Fighter games way worse. At least Mega Man 1 - 4 had small improvements a long the way, 5 and 6 were more or less 4, but you are right that was still a ton in one system era.

So did Streetfighter there are not many that are Arcade perfect or very close.

Super Streetfighter 2 Turbo (3DO)
Streetfighter Alpha 3 (NTSC-J Saturn)
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (Not sure - Dreamcast one is very good but it is not Arcade perfect - I think the Xbox version is closer or Arcade perfect).
Streetfighter IV Arcade (PC - The Arcade uses a PC).
