Except gimmick is a derogatory term. If its actually good and provides benefit or people like it, the word you're looking for is feature.

I make Pixel Art on occasion.

I thank Nintendo everyday for their hilarious descriptions.

And don't even get me started on Kirby's Epic Yarn furniture descriptions.

And yes, the GamePad is a gimmick, but that doesn't mean it's bad. People keep thinking "gimmick" means "bad", but it doesn't. At all... :I

Gimmick is not inherently a negative term, it's just people choose it as a word to whine about. It and feature are both just say that something, like the Gamepad, is a selling point.

There are several times I've thought of making the joke(?) that people take the term NintendoLife too literally.

Remember kids: living the Nintendo life and eating "mario" mushrooms is not good for your growth.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
