ZombiU wowed me, the unique gameplay and how it used the GamePad. Plus it being a launch title. It is truly a fantastic game, wish more people picked it up
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Sounds like you're on the wrong site then. WiiU has amazing games and if you can't get wowed by Smash Bros WiiU or Mario Kart 8... then there's other consoles for you my friend.
Your expectations must be pretty dang high. I was pretty blown away with nintendo land. Granted, the depth was not quite there, so it wore off after a month or so. But i have been extremely impressed with Mario 3d World, Bayonetta, Rayman Legends, SSB and Mk8 to the point that i consider them essential to any gamers collection.
...Why does everyone want online for every single game? :/
3D World doesn't need it.
Not exactly a single player game when the main draw was local multiplayer.
To be fair, she didn't say it didn't have local multiplayer. But I am going to say it was a game that needed online play. It would have differentiated it from the other Mario games.

I find it kinda weird that you refuse to play certain games on the Wii U, then complain that nothing has wowed you. You might need to step outside of your comfort zone to find something that wows you, just an idea.
I disagree with the original poster, but I guess I see what he's hinting at. I guess there haven't been any Wii U games yet that joined perfect gameplay and eye-popping innovation, like Mario 64, for example, did.
It's not really a problem in my opinion, though. What I want is great memorable games, and this I've been getting in spades from the console.
Wii U is home to amazing software. Mario Kart 8 and NSMBU "blew me away." I've yet to play Smash Bros., Bayonetta, Hyrule Warriors... even Captain Toad looks to be something that'll wow you. There's also Wind Waker HD, W101, Pikmin 3 and 3D World.. not to talk of the 2015 titles...
Bring down your expectations, cuz everyone did and they ain't regretting anything.
God first.

I think I see what your saying, but I would put it in different terms. The Wii U has quite a number of exceptional titles, it's just that none of them so far are as exceptionally novel, exciting, and "epic" in scale, style, and mechanics as the games you list. That doesn't mean the Wii U's games so far are bad or inferior in any objective sense, but if that's the kind of experience you want most, the Wii U hasn't yet fully satisfied that desire.
I'm sure such a title is on the way though (Nintendo has produced such games for every generation so far), The Legend of Zelda being the most obvious candidate right now.
It's a sign of getting old, happens to the best of us. I remember how "wowed" I was as a kid when the Gameboy Color was released yet just mildly impressed with the 3DS as an adult. Don't get me wrong I love my system, but I just lost the youthful enthusiasm that most gamers around my age once had.
Maybe that's why most older gamers is also hooked on nostalgia.

I somewhat disagree. While there is probably some truth to that theory, I think the reality is more complex, and each generation is certainly not equal.
Using myself as an example, I think the SNES is one of Nintendo's strongest generations, but I hadn't played more than one of those games until three years ago. I've now played several. I was introduced to Metroid through Metroid Prime 2 at ten years old. I now think Super Metroid is the better game after playing it just last year. 8-bit and 16-bit games have no nostalgia for me. I never played them until I was an adult, but I still strongly appreciate them. I've played Zelda games since I was ten. I still prefer 3D Zelda games over top down, but of the 3D games Majora's Mask is my favorite, despite not playing it until I was 20. It's not as simple as getting older.
Expectations are complex, as are the conditions that satisfy them. Nintendo's strategy has changed through the generations and some will like Nintendo more or less based on what they decide to produce.
As of this year, I already like the Wii U a lot more that I ever liked the Wii overall.
I think a big reason for it is that as good as the Wii U line up is, most of it is very iterative in a bad way. For me the standouts thus far have been Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and the games releasing in 2015.
WAT!

I actually do agree to some degree and it kinda fits with my exact same opinion of my opinion of the peak of last generation gaming (mostly 2009-2011). There were plenty of amazing games I played during that time, but none of them felt (at least on a single playthrough, things might change if I replay them) like something I'd consider one of the best games ever. Amusingly 2 did in 2008 (World of Goo and (thx to fantranslation) Mother 3) and 2012 had Xenoblade. Regardless, a few got fairly close at least. Right now those games on Wii U (from what I've played) are Rayman Legends and Wonderful 101. Both amazing games but they did not give me the same experience to the degree of any game on my personal best games ever list. I mean, I might go back and change my mind certainly (it's likely, I didn't think DKC2 or Banjo Kazooie or Star Fox 64 or Halo 2 were my favorites when I first played them either for example), but right now it is missing that near-perfect experience,, even if it has games that come close. But I haven't seen if Bayonetta 2 fixes my few issues with Bayonetta 1 so...
But it's a personal preference and Bayonetta 2 is basically GOTY so...yeah...
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Having said that, I loved many of the experiences I have had thus far on the WiiU. 3D World was a fantastic game. Mario Kart 8 has been a blast. Can't wait to play Smash.
I don't think this has anything to do with age. The Galaxies both blew me away and that was only a couple years ago. Just in the past two years games like Journey and The Last Of Us really had that Wow factor for me.
