That means your Wii U is defective or your internet isn't compatible. I am posting from my Wii U right now and all the other online features work fine. I recommend you call Nintendo and explain your problem. Knowing them, they will give you possible fixes, and if those don't work they will replace your system.

If you hate it so much, please, by all means, consult Nintendo about your problems, or return it. Complaining about it isn't going to help anything.

I don't think theblackdragon will let you get away with profanity...

Anyway, contact Nintendo. I wasn't able to hook up my Wii U to my WiFi properly, but after connecting with them, they sorted it out for me!

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

Have you even considered contacting Nintendo to actually try to fix the issue?

Do something instead of just complaining.

You guys can't spot the troll......................??

Any company where the CEO takes a 50% paycut due to a slightly underperforming product, and personally apologises to its customers, cannot have bad customer service. Period.

Just stop complaining. You think you have it bad? When I got my Wii U, it didn't play discs. I had already downloaded NSMB U before I realized that by trying the bundled Nintendo Land. I sent it in to Nintendo, and NSMB U was gone, and I was unable to download anything.

I would be pretty pissed off if the console I had been looking forward to for a year or longer was not working properly too.

Lay off the guy, he's venting.

You think I'm not angry? Because I definitely am. I'm just not making a whole thread to write a poorly written "paragraph" to complain about it and demand a refund. If you contacted Nintendo's customer service, they would have, like with me, told you that they're working on a fix that should be live early next week.

Exactly. I would be fuming too. Nintendo in all honestly have really screwed this launch up, there's been nothing but problem after problem since day 1 and this is coming from a Ninty fanboy. Nintendo in all honesty should of delayed the Wii-U until next year because I feel they rushed it out to quick without extensive testing. I'm sure many will agree with me.

No. He is in the minority. Regardless of how long it takes a console to launch with "extensive testing", defective consoles will always be a reality.

Either that, or he hasn't configured his settings properly. Every device has its own respective configuration, and judging from the extent of his problems, I'd say this possibility is more likely.

(Nelson voice) HA HA! I have had no problems with the system bro maybe you should get your cash back and buy a VITA to go with that PS3... It's supposed to be like a WiiU but has no games or support maybe you can be the ambassador.

I refuse to waste my time posting responses to waaahmbulance threads..... d'Oh!

But whilst I'm here, the OP hasn't posted anything about the router setup, e.g. DHCP, rebooting the router, proximity to other access points, proximity to other rf interference.
Yes, it may be a dodgy wifi unit in the Wii U out of the box but wifi is still far from being plug'n'play.

Interrogating the router will tell you straight away what's happenning - look for the MAC address of your WiiU on the console then check if it's registered in the router.

But then there's no mention of the OP's wifi setup skills - although the tone of the post might possibly be a clue - so the dumb questions need to be asked, such as; does the console find the wifi network in question?
does the wifi identify any other wifi in the vicinity whatsoever?
Has somebody added/changed a passkey to the system?

If you want help then ask but waahing just wastes time and attracts the doomsday troll-flies....

NOW'S THE TIME ON SPROCKETS WHEN Wii U DANCE!!!
