Basically it just hit me - what the Wii U is a glorified iPad
Everything you just described can be done on a much cheaper unit as the iPad, and can do so much more for you.
The Wii U at it's core is a gaming console meant to play multi-million dollars videogames, not to play "timer-waster" games like Candy Crush, made for a quick cash-in.Trying to justify the Wii U as this great mother of all casual gaming, when the Wii U still make games for all type of gamers but sadly failing in all those aspect. Unless this what you look for in a console, then at all means enjoy your over price iPad.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
@LordJumpMad thats great but where I live the oldest iPads are still more expensive than the wii u. A simple smart phone would be a better analogy. It does that it with more games too

@LordJumpMad .... The Wii U is a glorified iPad, you say? Can a iPad run X or Super Smash Bros. or Super Mario 3D World or Darksiders 2 or any other game on Wii U (besides that mobile Injustice port)?????
The Wii U IS A GAMING CONSOLE!!! The Gamepad can be used in cool ways OTHER than gaming! Sheesh!!!
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

YOUR statement smell with denial mister _wolf, all you've said is too over exagerated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
those are the videogames of 15 years ago http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_video_game_consoles_(...
you're about ten to thirteen years out with your statement.
Mmm, nope. I meant fifteen years. The majority of the games I see are 2D platformers and ugly puzzle games, which we already got plenty of in the mid to late 90s. I just think we are deluding ourselves thinking Nintendo has been mysteriously planning all of this all along, and soon enough it will all make sense. The fact is the Wii U, in its current state, is a big clumsy iPad that will release damn good games once every six months. If you guys are fine with that, that's cool. But that's not what I thought I was buying when I picked up my Wii U.
Good post. I have found the gamepad as a great couch companion as well. time have a Galaxy Tab that has collected dust BC the gamepad is so much better for surfing. even cool to watch netfilix on whilst someone else is watching regular TV. I like to play Mario and watch a sporting event at the same time. I have even been using my 3ds for browsing and Netflix.
I just recently noticed this. I only play games an hour or two a day, but use it more for other things at times. I like to play in spurts- knock out a level here and there, then do something else

and Xbox One and Ps4 are mostly focused on having the exact same experiences as the previous 8 years, do you have a point?
Well at no point did I compare the PS4 or Xbone to the Wii U. Console wars are tired and boring. If anything I'm just surprised and disappointed that I am still playing my Ps3 more than my Wii U. My point being - bring da games Nintendo. I didn't buy a Wii U for internet browsing.

I've been a little burnt out on 2D platformers for a while now so no Rayman for me. I played the demo for W101 and found it to be a little too sloppy so I opted for Pikmin. But both of those games came out like 6 months ago( and were supposed to be launch titles)... what do they have to do with a lack of games...now?
Techincally the wii u is still just starting out.. nintendo knew good games wouldn't be instant release so they resorted to releasing remakes of top games released even by other companies (assassin's creed for example). It's a brand new.. and complicating system for developers to learn how to code games for. Give it a few years and games will come storming in like the wii did. Look how long it's taking games like SSB to develop.. they're still working on it figuring out the system. Eventually it'll be a breeze and games will get released in large numbers.

Because if you don't have every good game that appeals to you now, then you really don't have any right to complain. If you're desparate for something to play on the Wii U, instead of complain about it, break out of your comfort zone and try something different.
Seriously, I've complained about the Wii U's library before, but after looking hard, I realized I didn't even have half the games I wanted yet, so now I'm done complaining until I get and finish those.

The thing with this is Nintendo pretty much killed Wii support in 2010 so they had plenty of time to prepare for Wii U.
Edit: Not complaining myself just wanted to point that out.

I do think they were dumb to not think that though, for the record.
And Wonderful 101 isn't sloppy, it's just really terrible at explaining itself.
