thank you for not actually reading what I was saying and instead putting in your own reality

I wish I had held off buying a Wii U a little longer in order to get the NSMBU bundle instead. Alas, I'm stuck with Nintendoland and have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it.

I found a sucker online who paid $20 for my copy! Try it!

Not a bad game, but I didn't think that it had the same draw that games like Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort had. Played it for a couple of days and haven't touched it since.

I have got plenty of use out of NintendLand, as a pretty good coaster... Don't want to scratch up my TV trays!

I'm confused as to why no one credits this game when talking about the Gamepad. Inserting this game in every Wii U was a brilliant move by Nintendo. Too bad the Wii U too didn't sell well

I really enjoy my copy of NintendoLand. The multiplayer games are fun and the single player content is enough to keep me busy. I don't think it is worth $60 but maybe $40

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I thought it was decent to get with the system when we bought it a year ago. But yeah, not worth $60. Now that it's $30, or even less used, it's worth a look especially if you are new to the system.

I think it can be worth 60 bucks. Mainly because half of the modes are either really replayable or have a relatively decent amount of content (or both?!), but for most people I'd definitely go for 40 dollar. But it came for free so i don't care about that. Like you shouldn't have bought this game at all, just get it with the system, it's a nice, cute example of anything good the system can offer (barring online multiplayer lololololol).

and getting NSMBU when 3D World and Rayman Legends exists is a terrible move I will gladly consider a factual statement whether anyone wants me to or not

Exactly. It is a problem with the gaming industry these days. People want a game that uses the GamePad. Nintendo Land makes the best use of it, offers hours of gameplay as well, both single and multiplayer. It should be game everybody is asking for, but no. It gets little credit, and is marked as another ''cheap'' Nintendo game. Despite the fact that the game offers way more than the respected Wii Sports. Gamers don't know what they want.

I think Nintendo Land is a great game. It gave Nintendo to chance to show of the GamePad functies, it advertises some of their games through the mini games based of of those games. It offers a challange as well, just try to collect all the stamps, and you'll soon discover that the game is a lot more difficult than it seemed. For Nintendo it was a way to introduce new players to their world, and well, the older Nintendo gamers had a chance to play with their favourite characters in unique mini games. Sadly, it'll be another one of those games that gets bashed now, but will receive praise when we look back on the Wii U generation.

hard game to sell, on a hard console to sell....

How so? 12 mini games, 9 of them simple arcade style games, and three with progressive levels; even simpler than your average Mario game. I don't think it's that complicated.

I like it, too. However, it's just BEGGING for online multiplayer! I'm not the kind of person who thinks every game needs online multiplayer, but this is a game that really does!

I think Metroid Blast is the only game that is Begging for Online Multiplayer. The 3 VS games seem best in local. The Zelda and Pikmin games also seem best with other people in the same room. Pikmin Levels are too short(at least the ones I have played) and the Zelda swords stuff requires too much precision on angles to work online. Metroid Blast, to me, is the only game that I think would have shown online multiplayer well.

Off topic a bit, but I wish that Donkey Kong had some Gamepad functionality like Rayman does. That's pretty fun and would have worked well for DK. Would love a DLC in this light.

I just always feel Nintendo missed by it not having online play.

It IS complicated !
At the E3 presentation it was a mess ; more time explaining how it works than playing.

The art style is also complicated, too many things and colors on screen makes it hard to know where to look or what's happening.

I'm not saying the game is bad ; only that's hard to sell.

Yeah this, only for metroid I see it working. I probably would have played the heck out of this game if it were online, too bad though because I quite liked it.

It's begging for DLC - Starfox mini game. Waverace, more Mario Chase/Ninja levels, an F-Zero game with sensible controls or just a better racing, fishing game etc. etc. People would still be buying additional content but unfortunately someone at Nintendo thought it would be better off as a closed collection of games.

Nintendo's e3 2012 left them looking a little silly when they bleated on about asymmetric multiplayer but so far, that has been the only killer app for me. Everyone who played Nintendoland as a family will have seen the potential but Nintendo appear to have abandoned it as a concept..

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

I enjoyed playing NintendoLand very much, Metroid and Zelda were my favorite of all, because I played and mastered them with a friend. The asymmetrical gameplay in Metroid was brilliant. After mastering it my friend and I were very disappointed for two reasons.

1: Defeating Ridley and Ice Ridley and attaining Master rank was hard and we did a LOT of epic sh*t and saving each other from near deaths and stuff. I would have loved an MK8 style video recap of the levels you play. It only shows a few pictures and that doesn't cut it. I think NL would have been a lot better with that MK8 video structure in it.

2: After clearing everything on Master you want more. I understand the levels can't keep going on forever, but releasing new levels as DLC would have been great. DLC would also greatly improve the game.

Overall a fun game showing off the important functions of the Gamepad, but it could've been more than what it is today.

Wow such an old thread!

I really loved Nintendoland. It has so much charm and felt like a great introduction to the Wii U. It made me nostalgic for the old days of Nintendo, and yet presented some really high-tech experiences. (Also, Monita is a great new character. I hope they bring her back sometime.)

I agree that online multiplayer would have been cool. I was only able to really complete the single player missions, since my Wii U lives in my bedroom and doesn't see any local multiplayer use.
