Am I the only one who enjoyed Donkey Kong Crash Course then? I must be a bit odd. Had lots of fun tilting that controller around.

Don't feel bad for Nintendo Land. According to Japanese Miiverse numbers, it has--by far--the largest miiverse community in Japan; bigger than Mario, Zelda, and even Monster Hunter! And the strangest thing is that it wasn't even a pack-in game. The Japanese actually had to go out to buy it!!

Zelda Battle Quest is my favourite part of the game, but only in single player. On the harder levels it's virtually unplayable with more than one person since all players share the same life bar, which I think was a really dumb decision.

Donkey Kong Crash Course is the worst, just frustrating and not fun at all. >: (

I can't wait for Wii Sports Club. It has online experiences...something Nintendoland SHOULD have had.

not all games necessary benefit from online experience - I think Nintendo Land is one of those titles that wouldn't play right online. Most of the fun I had with the game, I had it in multiplayer, and it was fun because I had frends in my house and we were all playing and laughing.

You make a valid point. My reasoning for online is I have no siblings and none of my In_Real_Life friends play video games. Nintendoland is very meh playing solo.

A big problem is that some of the park's brightest attractions are closed to solo gamers.

^ This, pretty much.

Its a good game and shows off the asymmetric gaming Nintendo wants to push with the Wii U, but online multiplayer, DLC, and leader boards would have made the game so much better.

As has been discussed, Nintendo didn't help seem to care given their horrendous marketing efforts.

The other 2 I agree, but online multiplayer would take time that they clearly did not have.

I tried this Day One and couldn't help but think, "I've got a brand-new HD console connected to a 40-inch TV and I'm wearing reading glasses and staring at the GamePad screen."

Nintendoland is better than most people give it credit for. I too wasn't that impressed the first couple times I played it, but now we dig it. Very fun.
But its not as easy for noobs to get started like Wii Sports was. The learning curve was just a bit steeper and couple that with the fact that nobody even knows that Nintendo has a new (one year old) console out...

Zelda is def harder with multi-p, but that's a whole new level of challenge. My kids and I were able to beat it together and my youngest is 5.
I personally suck as DKCC but my 5 year old rocks it. (Feel ashamed)

Zelda is the best game series in history.

Well, i played the co-op games with my dad (the hardest thing he ever plays are Mario games) and for the most part they've been a great experience and benefitted quite a lot from the use of the Game Pad. Getting a special role instead of each player just doing the same things was a nice feeling i never had in games before.

Metroid's decent, but i don't think it has a lot of "casual" appeal 'cause of its relatively complicated controls and having to navigate through a 3D world. It also didn't feel very special when i was using the ship instead of "Samus".
Pikmin's really great except for all the mindless tapping. Thankfully my dad did that so i could do the fun part.
Where the co-op shines the brightest to me is in Zelda though. Everything just comes together so well there.
I'd even go as far as to say that this is something everyone out there should play with someone else if given the chance. If they had a tour where the only thing they'd let people play was this game i think it could still generate a huge interest in the Wii U. Especially with its new price which feels about right for what you're getting.

But yeah, the single player games don't have too much substance, they're more or less just short-term fun tech demos. I wasn't bored with 'em as soon as i was with the Wii Sports games though. Wii Sports doesn't have a lot of charm to me and it just didn't feel very rewarding.

I really hope that one day i'll get the chance to play the competetive multiplayer games with some people.

I was one of the haters of Nintendo Land before I actually got a Wii U. Then I started playing. Now I think it's a very good game. Much better than Wii Sports. Games that I thought would be "meh" like the Balloon Fight, is actually one of my favoirtes.

Two things:

1. Find me a mini-game collection that outdoes Nintendolands production values. It'll be a real classic gem years later after the Wii brand has been replaced.
2. It needs to be back in the eShop.

Must have blinked and missed this thread, but I'm glad it exists for basically the reasons already covered.

To contribute: there's a fairly good chance that Nintendo Land will still have "legs" in my house. The collection does a good job of leveraging storied Nintendo properties, to produce a variety of experiences (some more engaging than others, I must admit). Add to that a certain intangible element that is local coop, and it makes for a quirky diversion.

Now where did I find the door...

Interesting seeing people say that Wii Sports Club, which has been out a while now, is a 'proof' of the online-fun these games can produce. The thing is Wii Sports is still a thing that's kinda an occasionally played game. That thing is still fun. The online modes of Wii Sports Club are good but TBH I haven't gone online with it since the week it launched. I have however played both Golf and Bowling locally a number of times.

I think it's much easier in multiplayer, in single player with just the bow and arrow, you have no way to defend yourself. I still need to finish the last two levels or so.

I love Nintendo Land. Though I'd say only about half the games are worth the effort. The single player games - dancing octopus game, Ninja Castle (or whatever it's called), Yoshi's Fruit Cart, & F-zero were all pretty lame. But that said, I think it's pretty much the best introduction to the Wii U available. It gives such a charming introduction to the many possibilities the game pad can offer. It' a shame that I have yet to feel the excitement and surprise I got from booting up Nintendo Land again.

Most of the games were too mini...
They could of done a lot more, even post release.

The Metroid game is also unfortunately the last game I've played to make actual good use of the gyro.

I agree with the topic creator. Nintendoland was weak and boring. However, you'd think it was the 2nd coming of videogames or something the way Nintendo took all that time up at E3 that one year to introduce us to it.

I wish I had held off buying a Wii U a little longer in order to get the NSMBU bundle instead. Alas, I'm stuck with Nintendoland and have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it.
