Topic: I can't decide? I might cancel my Wii-U pre order :(

So as most of you know already, after all the problems the Wii-U currently has and the games i most wanted are now being delayed, I might cancel my ZombiU bundle as I feel it can't be worth paying over £350 just for a new Mario bros game and a zombie game that got mixed reviews. I originally ordered scribblenaughts and Rayman Legends to go wirh the new console but now they have both got delayed until 2013.

For now the Wii-U in Europe has a poor line up imo. Most games are already on other consoles and perform better according to most reviewers.

So now I'm stuck in two minds about canceling my pre order and just await in till next year for better Nintendo IPs like Zelda, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Pikmin 3 ect. Also by then it should be cheaper and should have all them current console bugs fixed.

But on the other hand I want to keep this pre order because of my love for mario games and I'm so desperate to play this one as it sounds like the best mario bros ever. I can't for the life of me decide what to do?

They're selling the system at a loss. I wouldn't expect a price-drop in a long time. And Zelda will definitely not come out next year.

If you have money to 'throw away', then you might as well buy it. If not, I'd definitely say wait. There might come some cool bundles for it next year. Maybe one with Pikmin 3 or Bayonetta 2.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

I doubt it's going to lower in price next year (unless something goes horribly wrong). so you might aswell buy it now. Rayman is coming early next year and Scribblenauts should be released pretty early in the year anyway.

£350? The ZombiU bundle goes for £299 if you do a Sherlock but most places have it £330 .

My advice? Don't cancel your pre-order. It's going to be a tough job securing yourself another one later, and who knows, you may not even have the money then.

The current bugs on the Wii U are being fixed in anticipation for launch as we speak, and the rest will be rectified by periodic system updates. As for the Wii U being cheaper when the new, bigger IPs are released, that's very doubtful. The Wii U will be most profitable for Nintendo when those games are announced/released, and judging by current consumer demand, I don't think the price is dropping significantly lower anytime soon.

If you really feel you need your money back though, go ahead - we can't stop you. However, since you say you'd like to try out the games anyway, I think it's best you keep it. There'll be lots to keep you occupied (games, Miiverse, eShop, demos etc.) until 2013 arrives for your wanted games.

i agree, and i must add zombieU is one of those games that you either love it or you hate it, and while there were some bad reviews it also has good reviews too..personnally i love it, it is to me one of the best ways to showcase what the gamepad can do

Im also undecided now , what with the problems and all. The gamepad seems to have the most issues : not charging , not syncing , not working full stop , loose buttons , screenburn....the list goes on! The trouble i have is that these problems are being reported on the internet and i dont know whats true and whats not anyone expand on this?

Most of that will probably be lovely fact based trollage. I've not read about any of those issues aside from battery issues but that's rechargeable and we don't live in 1989 anymore. I sure as hell aint cancelling my pre order

For what it's worth, you can always buy a Wii U later. I doubt we'll see system shortages from the summer and after that, since all the people that were for sure buying it will already own one.

Best thread ever

Yeah... I know this will offend some, but there's quit a bit of trolling in these forums. I've had mine since launch with no lockups or issues. I've seen quite a few posts where people are whining and complaining, but then later posting they don't have a WiiU.

If you want NSMBU, then don't cancel your preorder. A Zombi U demo is coming so if the negative reviews got you worried, don't write it off until you try the demo. As for the bugs, any problems the Wii U has seemed to have so far are firmware, not hardware. These bugs will be sorted out via firmware updates before new Wii U's will come with the latest firmware out of the box. Don't count on a price drop in the first year, the 3DS was a rare situation and the Wii U already is doing better at launch than the 3DS did. Anyone who feels confident we'll have a price drop soon are either Nintendo haters or butthurt early adopters that felt shafted by the price drop (I felt Nintendo compensated us fairly). The chances of that happening again are slim, especially considering they're selling at a loss. Considering the Wii U Zelda game hasn't even been officially announced, I doubt it will release next year, Nintendo spends a lot of time on Zelda games. I doubt there's many benefits to waiting a year, especially if there's at least one title you want now. All I have are Nintendo Land and NSMBU and I'm very satisfied with the system. Also, you never know how long shortages will last; Nintendo may feel certain they'll catch up with demand soon, but I know the Wii was hard to find in some areas for quite a long time. If you cancel the preorder now, there is always a chance you may not be able to get the system when you really want it.

I agree. Whether they're jealous because they can't get one or simply hate Nintendo, a lot of people seem to be blowing the issues out of proportion. I'll admit my Wii U has locked up three times, all during Nintendo Land, but I've probably poured at least 30-40 hours into that game between single and multiplayer. Obviously, 3 freezes means there is something wrong but Nintendo already has committed to fixing this problem and it's hardly interfered with my enjoyment. New systems ALWAYS have problems, and considering the problems are not hardware, these are pretty easy fixes.

Mate this is at least the second one of these you've posted and I haren't seen anything by you of first hand experience. I have a PS3 (since launch and hey, that was "crap at launch" too, ya wombat) I've played a few demo Wii Us and I'm still counting down to Friday.
What exactly is your Yoda-like wisdom based on?
