You're better off anyway. Aeria Games was a terrible Pay 2 Win company that horribly mismanaged every game they ever published. DWO was no exception. The American subsidiary doesn't even exist any more. All of the offices have been moved to Europe.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Joeynator3000

Well anyways hopefully I'll be able to nab Hyrule then, ugh, to many games coming out all of the sudden. xD

I'd guess Hyrule Warriors is an excellent way to get started in the DW series.

Even if you don't like the gameplay that much, you'll still have the ton of TLoZ fan service.

Bloop.

At first I thought the gameplay was a boring button masher...but after seeing more of it I kinda wanna kill thousands of enemies at once. xD
Also I kinda like the whole capturing/defending bases on the map thing too.

There's a Japanese Miiverse community for Hyrule Warriors and nearly everyone is posting using the smiling emoticon. I even saw a cool drawning of Toon Link playing the game. I think the Japanese audience are very happy with the game. They did go and purchase the game.

The Japanese is a audience that Nintendo hasn't forgotten and I'm glad for that.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Apparently the Great Fairy is Link's final weapon. So she's not an unlockable character.

I blame the modern hipster mentality of reviewers for the poor reception of Dynasty Warriors games in the West. The genre seems to be looked down upon as though people don't enjoy running around killing loads of enemies in a massively unrealistic fashion. These are often the same people who score new CoD games 9+/10. Ryse got bad scores but to me it was a good mindless fun beat em up that looked amazing. It reminded me of the old LotR games on Gamecube.

Ha! That made me chuckle, and I agree with you 100%. Sometimes all I want is to just sit down a play a nice beat-em-up without reviewers crying about the lack of "artistic presence" and how the game contains "narrative dissonance" lol

agree..basing on repetitiion gameplay schemes then a lot of franchises should get votes inferior to 7.... i love the mindless beat em up gameplay of DW... on hard mode is not so easy anymore, and the base conquering system add strategy to the game... same thing in orochi 3 the choice of 3 warriors... helps to vary your tactics... u r right, they are kind of hipsters... some games are "fashion", other not

Demo's really can't do warriors games justice, a big part of the experience is the Meta game not just the battle maps. Might be worth renting a game to try it out, Its worth noting that the engine and thus systems of the game have been overhauled recently so anything older than DW7 isn't going to be a good indication of how the game plays.

I'm currently playing DW8 XLC (Have been since release) and its massively different from DW7, but as a major Warriors series fan little changes and may stand-out more to me.

DW7 actually felt like a complete overhaul of DW6 to me too, and I liked it a lot. I still prefer DW7 over DW8, but maybe it'll just take some more time for DW8 to grow on me.

Also, I have DW7 for PS3 and DW8 for Vita, so that probably makes a difference too...

I'm still excited for the game and have it pre-ordered but all these pre-order DLCs are so annoying! Not cool, Nintendo!

I would have pre-ordered it, but there's only one shop with the Limited Edition here in Sweden. (That I've noticed.)
I'll wait and see if my favorite shop will add it.

So, HW has now been released in Japan? Anyone know what the gamers there actually think of it?

On the last page somebody posted that Famitsu gave it a 36 out of 40, but I haven't heard anything as far as general player reviews.

rallydefault

Kewlan

Yeah I haven't heard much at all. Where are all the spoilers? Are there no other characters after all? Any new weapons except ____? Nothing else we didn't know?

I could tell you one of the unannounced characters if you really want me to. Plus they're planning on supporting this game long term with dlc characters, stages, and scenarios (story).
