Four possible options:
1. If your monitor has an audio out that might work... easy solution
2. find a reciever with HDMI inputs and connect your speakers to that
3. Use a TV like everyone else
4. Plug headphones into the gamepad, for some games the sound is the same on both

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
It's probably the most expensive option, as expensive as getting a new monitor. Would only suggest if you're wanting to use your Wii U on a very high end PC monitor and were in the market for a set of reasonable speakers. Or if you had one laying around for whatever reason. Minimum of about $250AU for it new.
