Topic: How is Nintendo not giving the Wii U ads now?

Before you call it is ridiculous , i have to say it because this was stuch in my Chest since the Pikmin 3 ads stopped playing in Nick and Cartoon network, now...I know that someone will say that it doesn't have big games , but Nintendo did put ads Month before it came out and The Wonderful 101 was released recently and It had no ads at all, don't say ''PGs doesn't have a large audience'', commercials are there to let people know about the game existence and luckily the Company, the 3DS has Pokemon X/Y commercial and they are awesome..but Super Mario 3D world and Sonic lost world are coming at the same time, (At the longest, one month away) but there are no ads at all! Why? Sometime ago, NL showed an article that said ''Nintendo's 1st party titles shine''., Where are the ads? Is Nintendo making the best holiday ads? orwhat? Also, there were Xbox one promos in theaters, but Wii U? none? Nintendo...Y U no put more Love to Wii U?!? maybe it's too soon...(i hope)

Because TV ads aren't the only form of marketing

Because nobody watches ads on TV bro... That time is best spent fetching a beer from the fridge or playing the 3DS on the crapper

Wait until Christmas comes. You'll see so many ads you're gonna wanna tear your eyes out. Here's an example of an ad I expect: "You wanna buy a console for a really good price with some great games for Christmas??? Look at Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, Lego City: Undercover, insert any other game here".

Yeah, this is the WiiU awareness campaign, remember! Only U can save WiiU... through telling your friends! Obviously word of mouth is the most efficient way to advertise a product, I'm surprised everyone else hasn't caught on yet to this cheap and ineffective method.

Well, i DID see an Ad today about Windwaker HD, so i guess Nintendo is aiming for a possible new Media ,i guess spongebob is only thing helping TV? >.>

But its still probably the most effective despite TV's decline, especially for Nintendo's target demo.

Still were probably going to start seeing them later this moth. Nintendo has to be careful since the PS4 and Xbox One will have marketing starting on all fronts and Nintendo doesn't have the money to out market Microsoft and maybe Nintendo.

It seems to me that everyone watches TV... maybe you mean the quality of what's on TV?

Network Televison and Cable have been on the decline for a while due to the changing viewing habits of the populance. Its one of the main reasons why were seeing content providers go to create their own programming. (House of Cards, The Amazon pilot program, Halo TV series). It mostly has to due with a lot of people my age (18-25) cutting the cord and opting for services like Netflix and the such. Don't get me wrong TV in the traditional sense is still and will be popular for sometime but its relevance is slowly declining.

TV isn't declining but the current medium it viewed through it. Its similar to how the music industry had to make a giant shift with the rise of MP3 and the ipod.

Honestly if I do watch TV show I watch them recorded on the DVR and I skip the commercials. Otherwise I just watch TV shows on Netflix.

I only watch tv when pokemon on or the X factor on

I'm HOPING that Nintendo is waiting until after Pokemon X+Y and the 2DS release on Oct 12h and we get closer to the holidays and the X1 and PS4 launches.

TV commercials are necessary. And if they arne't why have I been seeing AC4 commercials for baout 6 months and Beyond 2 Souls commercials the past few days?

Now think abut that, Sony is spendng money on commericls on tv for Beyond 2 souls, a PS3 game, when h ePS4 will b eout soon, but Nintnedo does't have nay commercials for the Wii U or it's games that nobody knows about.

TV comeircls are importnat, kid sdo'nt DVR, they watch whatever is n C r Sat mornng or after school on Nick. Thats when Mario commeircls need to run. And comeirlcs fo rJust Dance 4an dWii Ft U need to run during Ellen and Wendy O and the View. If there aren' tany Wii U commercials fo rWi fit U, Club Sports adn Just Dance 2014 during the View in Nov then Nintnedo has abandoned the Wii U. Housewives do NOT DVR the View, or Rachel Ray, or Ellen, but those housewives are the ones who deicde what to buy thei rkid of rCHristmas.

And I'm hopeful thats when these commercials will run, in Nov, after Halloween is over and the Christmas shopping season is in full swing.

On a brighter note, the Nintendo Wii U page looks good, I like the wording, and the U in Wii U is bigger. A bunch of people have been commenting lately that the u on the Wii u box is too small.

I've been seeing ads for ww, 101, and Pokemon all over the net here in na.

Woo hoo, just saw a Scribblenauts Unlimited tv commercial on Fox 5 at 9:58PM, during halftime of the football game on channel 4, when people are likely to be surfing around to kill time.

And speaking of Sundya night football, they had an Olypmics commercial for the Sochi 2014 games. If Nintendo is smart they'll start showing a tv commerical during those football games after Mario & Sonic comes out Nov 15.

I see the commercial for Scribblenauts Unmasked at lest 4 times a week.

I haven't seen anything for Wind Waker HD, but then again, I don't watch much daytime CN or Nick (it seems like I see at least one Nintendo commercial on the rare occasion I do happen to stop by those channels, though).

And still not a difference was made on the face of the earth... TV commercials are just a massive waste of time and money... Cash that could be better spent on the localization of/or making good games

I haven't watched TV in literally 4 years. I don't give a crap about Netflix either. If it's not interactive, I don't pay attention to it.

I've seen a bunch of full page ads online everywhere. They are advertising the Wii U.

The key word in the thread title is "how". It's quite easy how, they don't spend money on TV ads, that's how.

In all seriousness though I think it's worth questioning the value of TV ads with the market Nintendo are trying to target. Especially for something like Wind Waker on the Wii U. The people who are considering getting it know about it and won't be influenced by advertising much I don't think. The recent firmware update which included the image share feature is probably more valuable for a game like Wind Waker. If you're on twitter do a search for "#WiiU filter:images" and you'll see what I mean.

Also worth nothing that I don't remember seeing any TV advertising for GTAV......

Wind Waker HD has been the top ad I see on most gaming sites.
