I love to trash talk the Wii U but in all honesty, I really like the system Nintendo has devised. The ability to watch TV and still play games on the Gamepad is a solid WIN in my book. Miiverse is cool too. I wish it would hurry up and come to the 3DS!

I love it. Yes, I think the Gamepad is an awesome controller- and feature. I like being able to play offline (Mario Bros. is great in this mode) and then i also like how it can enhance certain games- Wonderful 101, Rayman and Tekkin.

At least with me, part of owning a video game system is playing Mario Bros, Donkey Kong or Mario Kart. I simply wouldn't want a system where I can't play those titles. I will add this- I think the graphics are pretty amazing. And while the knock on it is that there aren't many games, I have 24 total- four eShop and 20 retail. I'm fine with the selection and look forward to the next six months of releases with games like Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. and Bayonetta coming out soon.

While I obviously don't agree with how Nintendo has handled Wii U thus far, I must say I really enjoy playing the system.

I luv the Wii U. Its incredibly underrated but I really think its gonna start picking up huge steam in 2014.
The ONLY THING I WANT IS MORE 3rd party support. I don't blame Nintendo for not caring about dudebro games but we still need more 3rd party support.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Yeah I agree it needs third party. Nintendo can't release a high-quality first party Wii U exclusive every month, so it needs the third party.

I personally love it, but I have absolutely no doubt that Nintendo is going to fall behind once again this generation....

Ehhh... I disagree somewhat with that. The PS4 won't start getting tons of Japanese games until Japanese developers get tired of the PS3. And I think most Japanese developers will stick to PS3 (and even 3DS now) for a good long time. So the PS4 won't become the "Japanese video game haven" for a long time.
The early success of PS4 and Xbox One relies heavily on dudebro games. I don't even mean that as a insult to PS4/Xbox One. I just think most of the games from them will be dudebro games and the quality of dudebro games vary dramatically. Some are good. Some are bad.
And don't assume that every PS4/Xbox One game will be amazing and have great sales.
Example: I don't mean to sound negative at all when I say this.. But if Xbox One's Ryse, Sony's Knack and The Order doesn't flop... I WOULD BE INCREDIBLY SURPRISED. My gut tells me that those three games will utterly crash against the floor. Hopefuly... it turns out I'm wrong. Most people will dislike them but a select few will defend them.

I've loved it since day 1. It had the best launch lineup I've ever had and I've hardly put it down.

I have only tried Wii U couple of times at a demo-kiosk and it felt pretty good to my suprise considering the size of the pad.

My main reason for not owning the thing yet is that i live in Finland where always new electronic devices (like video game consoles) are some of the most expensive ones in whole of Europe. If Nintendo can turn things around with Wii U in the next 1-2 years, i might consider buying one.

I mentioned in my response and in another thread- I'm fine with the amount of games available, but I feel that Nintendo CAN release more 1st party games- not so much for me but more for people comparing systems. They have $11 billion in cash but can't get Donkey Kong to release in Dec.? I don't really care b/c I have a backlog of games.

I love it to be honest.

I really prefer it over the Wii which I honestly found to be a huge disappointment. I feel the Wii U has huge potential and the gamepad is a great controller. I'm sure it will pick up eventually, I genuinely believe the majority of the public see it as just a special kind of Wii and not a completely new console.

Like Kodeen said the added features of the system don't interest me at all. I have my own TV and would rather play the games on that than walk around the house. I will get one eventually when more first party games come out, but I feel like Nintendo has dropped the ball in this area too. There hasn't been any blockbuster console software from them since Mario Galaxy 2 (unless you count Pikmin which is very niche). It looks like that will finally change with Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. Without third parties they really need to up their game production.

I got it my Basic on Feb 1 together with New Super Mario Bros. U. Wasnt really that excited about it or its games - it was more about the "want everything new"-need. I did however sell of my PS3 Slim and entire PS3 collection in some sort of "new beginnings"-ritual which afterwards definetely was the wrong call considering the quite limited libroary of both exclusive and multiplat content on the console. I have however had a great run with it, and i really fell in love with NSMBU and the HD-remaster of The Wind Waker gave me a chance to give the game another try - and i now do not consider it "okay" but rather one of the best games ever. I have also had a lot of fun with multiplat-games like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Assassins Creed III.

I problably would have continued to main Wii U for 2014 (and maybe even beyond) if Nintendo would have managed to keep it going but the reality is that they have not. Its a failure in ways no Nintendo platform since Virtual Boy has seen. But i will of course keep it, because i do like Nintendo games and thats the reason that i will play on it in 2014 (not that they given us that much choice considering NO third-party support) But my main-console will be Playstation 4 now. And i really hope Nintendo plays their cards right so the situation for them (and us) betters.

My overall feel of the console is 1) Aged console in terms of power and functionality, cheap feel on the controller as well 2) But Nintendo games is love so that kind of makes Wii U love as well. If only Nintendo would have produced more content though.. Oh well, 2014 is soon here.

Underwhelmed.

Not really impressed by the system, or the current games library. But with 2014 around the corner, I'll wait to see what it brings for games with crossed fingers. I did buy it for Nintendo games, after all. As for my favorite feature, nobody laugh, but it's actually the remote control. So handy!

I would really appreciate it if you would leave a comment on
1. how you feel about the console?
2. why you would consider to buy it/or not to buy it?
3. which features you appreciate the most?

1. I'm happy with it right now. I got one at launch expecting more content soon after launch which didn't come till later. So earlier in the year I was barely using it at all. Now there is content I'm more than happy with it. It's a great little piece of hardware.

2. I originally got it for the exclusive content and there was just enough of that there at launch to push me to get one.

3. Off-TV Play is by far the best feature. I like being able to play a AAA title on the TV but being able to continue when the footy/cricket/news is on without annoying anyone. Also with Wii Fit U not having to display your weight on the TV if you don't want is a definite plus.

Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

could you tell me why you didn't want to buy it at first, what were your thoughts/feelings about the console? or have you been influenced in any way?
