hi nintendo fans =),
in the course of my consumer behavior course i am currently writing a paper dealing with the launch of Wii U in 2012 questioning the reasons behind the stagnating sales after it's release.
I would really appreciate it if you would leave a comment on how you feel about the console? why you would consider to buy it/or not to buy it? which features you appreciate the most? or any other topic you want to write about, as long as it is related to Wii U. =)

Thank you very much!

I don't plan to buy it because of lack of third party support, I like some but not all of Nintendo first party games so buying the console only to play 3 or so first party titles I'm interested on is not enough value for my money.

Thanks for your answers so far. i hope for more to come.

could you be more precise in which direction you expect the console to develop?

I bought Wii U because Nintendo knows how to make best first-party games.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

@kazethzn I don't really know how to explain it. It's just this feeling I get when I play with it. The Wii U has all these unique features that can be used to make incredible and fun new games. And games already look really good on the system, but like almost every other system that ever existed, games are only going to look even more and more beautiful as the developers learn how to use it better. Like so:

And not to mention the constant rumors and hints to new games. I just get really excited just thinking about the possibilities.

I remember taking consumer behavior so il help

how you feel about the console? Its a console with a lot of potential due to the nature of the second screen coupled with this low cost and Nintendos strong brand, however at the same point it feels because it is Nintendo things move slower then other companies as far as standards go.

why you would consider to buy it/or not to buy it? Pros: Cost,Nintendo,Off TV Play,Exclusives Cons: Nintendo,Questionable Third party support

which features you appreciate the most? Off TV play, the idea of playing Assassins creed in the tub or outside having a smoke playing monster hunter is amazing

I enjoy my system very much. I guess one of the main reason is the feature that comes with it. For the most part, it all the same song and dance (off-screen play, built-in camera and mic, motion control, touch screen, etc.) but it's the way it's all there at once so customers don't have to buy additional accessories (not counting controllers) to enjoy it and developers can create games that utilize those features instead of wondering if their target market have it or not (Wii Zapper, Balance board, Wii Speak, etc) and create some cool game using those features since it's already there. The first 2 to come to mind is Pokemon Rumble U with the NFC and Wii Fit U with everything. It makes me think about future possibilities for gaming that doesn't just involve better graphics and specs but how we play.

Plus with every new systems, you alway have to buy the newest controller to work with it. I already have 5 Wiimote (one being a motionplus), 3 motion+ attachments, 3 nunchuk, 2 classic controllers, and a balance board to name a few. So having a next gen. console that works with past control really help in the multiplayer and budget saving.

There's my 2 cents worth.

Wii U is awesome, I just picked mines (Zelda Wind Waker bundle) up last week and love it! Miiverse is extremely active, love the off-screen feature, graphics are very very great! I love it, cant wait for Xeno 2 and Super Mario 3D World!

This is off-topic (sorry) and might get me in trouble with @MrWalkieTalkie , BUT:

As slick as those banners are, I don't feel they communicate as precise as a message as you might hope.
they also consume screen space

Probably for your purposes in this thread they do a good job of communicating the "hype".

Right now, i'm quite anxious. I just wanna go home to play with it.

I got it solely for the exclusive games. It hasn't disappointed me.

It's got so much potential, hopefully Nintendo make use of it to the best of their ability.

Heh, I may have tried it on a bunch of demo kiosks but I got enough exp. to tell you this.
The WiiU may be the best thing ever at this time.
At first I wasn't going to buy it (well, a must buy) at first but as more features came in; off-tv play (the ability to play your video games on the wiiU tablet screen while someone else is using tv), miiverse, and the fact that the gamepad can let you clean up the hud and let you do stuff without the uncessery need to pause the screen to change inventory.
The main reason for buying it might be for the features alone!

I feel that this console has sooooo much untapped potential with the gamepad alone.

As much as I complain about the system, its overall pretty solid. I don't think it will have the most third party support and I sometimes doubt Nintendo but the system will be GameCube 2.0 which I'm cool with.

I love the Wii U. I look at a console purchase more like an investment for the future of gaming, not as much as a fun toy. If I miss out of some titles so be it. Nintendo focuses on what I care about in my games, gameplay. I have played fun games with terrible stories because of the gameplay. Most people I know will play bad games for great stories and I find that sad. The story should be second seat to gameplay in a video game. The story can help drive the gameplay and the gameplay can help drive a story but if it isn't fun I am not going to buy it. More games are being put on yearly releases and they are getting less fun. I want Nintendo's way of thinking to survive, not Activision or EA's way of thinking.

EDIT: I see Microsoft, Sony, EA, and Activision as the big movie makers where they are constantly trying to out-do each other and Nintendo is on the side making smaller more meaningful projects. In a way, to me, Nintendo is just one huge Indie developer.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
