After seeing F-Zero added into Nintendo Land and now soon F-Zero (SNES) coming to the Virtual Console this month! Could this be a good hint that Nintendo might look into revisiting the franchise? I know past games in the series didn't sell well to Nintendo, but I think its time to give it one more chance? What's your thoughts?

I think Nintendo is adding games to the Virtual Console that were featured in Nintendo Land, such as Metroid, Balloon Fight, and F-Zero.

However, I agree with you. A few months ago, Miyamoto said that he had no idea that people cared about the game so much, and that he wouldn't want to make a new game if he couldn't add things to it.

Looking for some 3DS and Wii U friends. PM me if interested!

Please fix the typo in the topic title, I had to click to figure out what you meant.

I think it's possible but I wouldn't expect it until later in the life, it likely wouldn't be a good early system seller. I wouldn't mind an HD F-Zero but it's up to Nintendo.

Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV

F-Zero is hands down the best racing game ever in my opinion. This and Starfox in HD would make alot of peoples lives complete, whether you believe it or not. They have been absent for 9-10 years each on consoles, and deserve a crazy-extreme-happy comeback. I've been waiting for a long time, and if those series skipped Wii in favor of Wii U, I'm all for it.

I really doubt that Retro would be working on IPs like Star Fox or F-Zero in my opinion. Like SCAR392 mention that lot of people would love to have a new Star Fox and F-Zero in HD! Nintendo just needs to put the name out there like they have done with Fire Emblem!

I don't doubt Retro could be working on a new Star Fox at all. That could be pretty awesome.

Hm. Star Fox. Maybe slightly off topic but just wanna say THAT could work nice on Wii U, IMO. Using the gamepad to steer, with the screen showing the inside of the ship (and seeing through the glass for first person) and the TV screen showing the normal view.

I've always thought that the next step in F-Zero would be each pilot having a special attack of some sort. Imagine Captain Falcon driving up next to a rival's vehicle and Falcon Punching it! The result would be losing a large portion of your boost/health meter.

Oh, and HD graphics would be cool too. ;)

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the best videogame threequel since Super Mario Bros. 3.

Games I'm hyped for: Batman Arkham Origins, New Super Luigi U (retail), Pac-Man ATGA (E3 will surely bring more.)

This. I'm generally not a fan of racing games but I have owned F-Zero, F-Zero X, F-Zero Maximum Velocity, F-Zero GP Legend, and F-Zero GX. F-Zero was one of the first games I bought with my SNES 2 decades ago and I've loved the series ever since.

It's been so long, I'd settle for a GX HD remake at this point. I'd love a new one, but perhaps if they feel the series isn't a solid seller (if that's why there hasn't been a new one in ages) then an HD re-release might be a good way to test the market.

I think Retro is making F-Zero or Starfox for Wii U as we speak. Regarding ideas about how they could use the multiple control schemes, isn't our job. I just sit back, see what they do, then hand over the money. It's not bad to think about ways they could use it for you're own personal reference, but chances are they already are doing that, or know they can. Don't waste your breath. Ubisoft is a good example of not listening and doing what they want anyway, but that's after the fact in that case.

I think Retro Studios is making a video game. Sounds pretty weird!

Whatever game Retro is working on, there's no doubt in my mind that it will (obviously) be a beloved franchise of Nintendo's past. Kinda fitting considering the company's name. ;) As for what exactly, well I'll just wait and be surprised come E3; it's more fun that way! :)
